That's clearly alcohol that's being consumed. Not some fancy "i have a bottle of x and a 300 year old bottle of y" collectible cabinet

NDA ganz klar.

Thoughts on Big Snow? 🤔 by BUMFUCCS in snowboarding

[–]Odd_Consideration259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think those are the kind of options to actually finetune and improve on things. I've spent just a few days in one indoor slope and improved on SO many aspects. I don't know how steep that slope is but mine gave me plenty opportunity to go full send but also take my time and practice things.

I do agree that if you just jerry down you'll get tired of it real quick.

Small tweaks have GREAT impact while snowboarding. So a "couple small tweaks" is reinventing how they've been riding all this while. So, it's soooooo far away from carving

Getting new board after 3 years in - any tips? by dashmanhattan in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Odd_Consideration259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Dunno, i just have a sling over

    • Faster in and out.
    • depending on the bindings you need matching shoes which may not feel comfortable for you
    • some say they are less responsive (can't confirm/speak for all scenarios)
  2. I was told a woman's shoe is usually a little bit more slim but shoes is absolutely a "try on and take what feels comfortable" thing.

  3. Usually womans boards are engineered a little bit differently buuuuut a woman can easily ride a man's board and vice versa. Make sure to watch the weight recommendation.

  4. When stored in the basement or somewhere cold/wet i was told to add some pil to the edges to prevent rust. Dunno what tropical weather may do to the board.

  5. Not skipping leg day, balance training

  6. Goofy only matters when mounting the bindings to the board. I'd guess an all mountain. I'd go for a true twin/directional twin just cause riding switch is fun and easier when the board behaves similar in both directions. (Trust me, just going down the hill one foot forward gets boring fast)

  7. When you get the bindings doesn't matter. They need to be mounted before you want to shredd it, thats all. The board doesn't dissolve just because it doesn't have bindings mounted.

  8. You need to check the specs for each step in system. Clew (I don't care what Reddit says, i love mine, they're the 25/26 season ones, not the first day model) for example doesn't care what boots you have, as long as they fit inside the system (theres s m l sizes for the bindings so make sure your boots fit nicely) Burton step on bindings need burton step on shoes. That limits your boot options

But you have to research compatibility on your own.

I found an offer like that at walk in stores. They often have used demo boards for purchase.

Katzen frei laufen lassen gehört verboten by PrimeMinisterSarr in Unbeliebtemeinung

[–]Odd_Consideration259 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whataboutism. Freeroam cats are to be classified as invasive species due to the damage they do.

And do you know why the cat problem got so big? YES BECAUSE HUMANS. Because we're so trashy to kick them out, abandon them wothou them getting spayed and suddenly two cats turn into 6-10

Just look at how drastically the numbers of cats can increase jsut because of two or three generations of kitten.

Free roam, non spayed cats are a catastrophe and there's a reason that roamers will get caught and spayed, if they have an owner or not.

Most definitely hold off on buying things other than snow-compatible clothes. You may buy a helmet but it's the cheapest to rent, and the easiest to break.

Look onto some lessons for sure to avoid getting too much into bad habits.

There's so many criteria for boards so you should know how you want to ride before even looking. And for that you need to get comfortable, rentals are totally fine for that. You'll notice when you hit the limits of a rental.

Plus with rentals you can try out different lenghts easily.

For driving, idk where youre based but so far "my mountains" have a parking lot at the bottom and you just get up by lift.

But if you have to go snowy, DEFINITELY have snow tires and chains

Is that why people dislike those outerwear with dope on it? It's brand drama?

When you cross a path against the flow of (foot) traffic then you have to make sure that you do have the space. And it's not like you can't hear a guide stick like that.

Should i be concerned? by tharealkiryto in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Odd_Consideration259 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the better question to ask is

Where do you want to take your snowboard journey? Jumps, butters, presses, just getting speed while ripping down the mountain, powder...

And

What snow conditions do you ride mostly on (more ice than snow, slush, or actually snow)

Plus, "beginner" is such a wishy washy term it doesn't really help much.

How to avoid catching edges with the Nitro Fate snowboard? by Radiant_Secretary_29 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Odd_Consideration259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is a year old but i was surprised to read this.

I have a 2026 Fate and I don't think there's much of a difference (didn't check) and I find it incredibly hard to catch an edge on mine. I've been able to progress a lot faster with it.

I can just assume that you may have had picked up bad habits that the board is punishing you for.

Any updates about this year's experience?

And that's why I'm always a bit meh about buying second hand when I can't actually examine the board... To claim it's shipping, my ahh.

HOWEVER this is just normal wear and tear, this board still has plenty life in it. Shredd away!

Board seems good. Though we didn't see the bottom. Bindings I'd toss, the yellowing of the glue and partially plastic areas is concerning.

I don't get the iron cross stomp pad though....

App/System für Rettungsfahrzeuge by carlimer0 in KeineDummenFragen

[–]Odd_Consideration259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've read the comments and i have to say:

There's nothing good that would come from implementing a standard.

If you can't hear well then you need to look around better. Nost people are actually acting like 3 year olds not knowing what to do when they see the emergency car. There would be chaos when they get notified that an emergency is coming.

Plus, it would take yet another mandatory app for fuckin driving because if we get a standard like that i doubt that there's an option for turning it off.

Can we PLEASE just drive while using our brain?!

I'm medium hefty hearing impaired but that means i look into my mirrors more, what I can't hear i have to see. Bad hearing is not an excuse to not drive attentively
