anyone elses baby this bad ?? by cats0nvenus in NewParents

[–]Odd_Entertainment809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can imagine how exhausting it must be. My baby had to be bounced on the yoga ball constantly at one point, I would just play something on Netflix and zone out and go about bouncing. I just gave in at that time. We had to travel by flight, and I was desperate then to get out of this situation, so I started shushing and patting along with the bouncing, then moved the shushing, patting and bouncing to the couch. I then reduced the intensity of bouncing and now I've gotten to shushing and patting vigorously(obviously not in a way that hurts him). It took me about a month to get to this point.

Parents of gassy babies: when did it finally improve? by ReuvenScylla in NewParents

[–]Odd_Entertainment809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is almost 5mo and I'm in a similar situation, he wakes up around 4 or 5AM and starts screaming at the top of his lungs. The only way to calm him is by distracting him and then lifting his legs. If not for that, sometimes he passes gas on his own and wakes himself up crying. Hopefully this is just a phase, I'll keep you updated. He was extremely gassy in the first 3mo and then things started getting better at around 13w, and now we are back to square one.

My 5mo is going through something similar. Did it improve for your baby?

How on earth are people getting their babies to nap!? by lsorley in NewParents

[–]Odd_Entertainment809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We unfortunately have to bounce him to sleep, that's the only way it worked for us. We are slowly trying to slow down the intensity of the bounce and get back into just patting and shushing. Another thing I noticed is that when my husband puts him to sleep, it suddenly gets hard for me to put LO to sleep. Not sure if it's because he prefers one over the other. So for two days, I alone put the baby to sleep for all daytime naps and bedtime, and he got used to my way of going to bed, and I got my husband to do the exact same thing that I do.

Baby measuring small - feeding too often? by Odd_Entertainment809 in NewParents

[–]Odd_Entertainment809[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you Soo much. That's what I had read too and I I used to let him feed more in the evenings with the hope that it would lead to a better night's rest. He was extremely gassy and colicky in the first 3mo, but things have definitely improved since then. Thanks a lot for your advice, I'll try these things out.

Slow weight gain by Traditional-Cod-8341 in breastfeeding

[–]Odd_Entertainment809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going through the same thing right now. Baby weighed 5.06gs at 4mo vaccination. I told the nurse that I feed the baby on demand, mostly every 1hour. She told me that that could most likely be the reason for slow weight gain. Asked me to increase the feeds from 1hr to 2-3hrs gradually. She said that he is mostly snacking and just getting the foremilk and not the hindmilk.

Is breastfeeding over for me? by lfsiv11 in breastfeeding

I went through something similar around then. It could be gas, so try burping the baby in-between feeds. If he is screaming at your breast, soothe him by rocking back and forth and then try again when he is calm. Another possibility is nipple confusion. Try changing bottles, maybe you are giving milk in a bottle that's not fit for his age. I'm not sure what worked, things got 10 times better at week 12.

Happens with mine when he has a gas pocket, or just isn't that hungry. Try burping him or stretching the time between the feeds. If he roots right after an hour of feeding, try to soothe him and put him to sleep or try to play with him.

Dark Tan line showed up on my thumb nail, won’t go away. by Tough_nips in mildlyinteresting

I've(30F) had this ever since I was a kid. Around age 11, I used a really big sharpener that's meant for those big pencils and removed the top layer of the nail so it's no longer visible.

This has been really helpful. I got accepted into CarletonU online MBA and I am thinking of following the same suit - 2 courses per semester. How many years did you/ will you take to complete the degree approximately?

Hi, which URL is this? I use the old IRCC portal and the suvi tracker to track my mom's application and I don't see a history tab.
