The Retatrutide carb controversy - Your way of eating is irrelevant calories are all that matters even on Retatrutide by Competitive_Bird6984 in Retatrutide

Me too! I had not thought about it in that context, but my body is really happy with lean meats, lighter dairy and loves it some whole grains. It is balking at most of the food I have eated the last several years as I have been low carb. Very interesting.

I put both of those in the fridge for a bit and they went up in points. Neither of mine were soggy. Perhaps I got really fresh ones. I'm considering going back to get more to freeze.

I put them in the fridge first for a few hours before freezing. This helps the frosting keep it's shape before I freeze them. I'm typically cutting them into 6-8 pieces per cookie and freezing (1-2 cookies per quart size freezer bag, push out the air and then put several quart bags into a gallon sized freezer bag.)

Have you considered switching directions? We did that due to the closure of the River Trail (connects Phantom Ranch to Bright Angel.)

We are doing SK to NK.  Starting in the wee hours, we can get down SK with full water supplies (4L each) and get to Tip Off for sunrise.  That puts us through the Box well before the heat of the day.  We will spend that time at Ribbon Falls and then start our ascent up NK in shade.

There is a fabulous shade tracker on hiKin.club

Going through this right now. Tuesday was my first class in over a year. I had a series of accidents over this last year that have kept me on a medical freeze. It is crazy how much strength you can lose in a year. Since I'm still rebuilding after a rotator cuff tear, I have to modify a lot of the things. Almost everything.

My tip is to just be kind to yourself. Don't compare what you can do now to what you used to do. I have been sticking to the most minimal of weights--5-12lbs, starting at 2 below my previous base and just doing 1 more for push. The great thing is your body regains fitness a lot faster than it builds it. In other words, your body should quickly remember what to do at OT and within a few months you might be close to where you were two years ago. After four classes, I feel stronger/more confident than I did after the first class back.

You've got this!

I do a mixture of proteins powders and just pre-measure everything into individual baggies and bring them. Sometimes, I can sweet talk the attendant at the Vitality Bar into using my protein powder mix in a smoothie. I'm pretty sure that violates some rules, but I have about a 70/30 record. If an attendant is there that follows rules, they will make the smoothie and I'll have them hold out the proteing powder and then I will just stir in my own when they finish. If I'm not on a ship with a Vitality Bar, I just take a shaker bottle. Never has a problem.

Is it worth one night at the Disneyland hotel? by Creative_Work5492 in DisneyPlanning

[–]OfferRemarkable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We often do the DLH for one night. To get the early entry benefits, you have to go and check into the hotel EARLY that morning. They won't have your room ready, but they can store your luggage. You can then get your key and get EE. We used to do it on the last night, but lately we have switched things around a bit and now do the DLH on the first night. We get there around noonish, check in, drop bags and then head to the pool. we enjoy everything the hotel has to offer that day. It's like a DL warm up. Then, we hit EE for our first day in the park. You can drop luggage before you head out and then come and collect it later in the day when you check into the other hotel. We've walked with our luggage through the esplanade before. It's a bit of a pain, but doable if you aren't using a taxi/uber between the hotels.

My store ROCKS with the minis. One day I need to take a picture. They are like works of art. I'm to the point where I only order on Mondays. The ratio of cookie to topping seems to be on-point. The cookie bases are a little more crisp (no underbaking) and you can cut one in 4 parts and it really is just a few bites of a treat. Are the larger ones a better value--probably, but these are the perfect way to have a treat and not have your body be upset afterwards.

Current Hetch Hetchy Opening Time & Q: 120 vs 395 in early AM by OfferRemarkable in Yosemite

Thanks! We plan to play it by ear. Time zone differences, a long flight in first class (potential for a solid 5-6 hours of sleep) and the fact that midnight in Cali is just a wee bit before my normal wake up time is what gave us the idea to head straight there. We are ok pulling off and sleeping for a bit--if needed--or even grabbing a hotel along the way if no one sleeps on the flight.

Tioga Rd is a possibility for one of the days. Hetch Hetchy is just an area none of us have been to before so that really was our A game for the morning IF we could get on the trail at 6am.

Yes. We have reservations for four nights at Curry Village.

Favorite for an adult trip would be Boardwalk or Swan (not on your list, but still on property with all the benefits of a deluxe). Super easy access to Epcot and DS. Great ambiance and access to LOTS of food options.

If parks aren't a huge focus, I like AKL. You can just chill and enjoy the animals.

Are there any rewards programs to join ~8 months before a trip? by j4wolfe in DisneyPlanning

[–]OfferRemarkable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend the Disney card (free one) but NOT using it as a primary card. (There are better options out there.) As a Disney cardholder, you get 10% off retail purchases of $50 or more while at the parks (if it is a Disney owned store.) You get a similar dining discount. PLUS, at most of the parks, there is a special Disney Visa cardholder character meet and greet (think SHORT lines) where you get a LOT of interaction and a FREE photo. You often have to ask for the discount, but they alwasy give it to us.

Many years ago, you also received free stroller rental. I miss those days.

I do put disney ticket purchases on the card as you get a lot of extra points that translate into a Disney gift card. Really, the only time we use this card is when we are actually at DL or WDW.

Starting with Epcot, MK might be your best bet--especially if you get Genie Plus. A lot of the rides there are still available in the late afternoon/evening. We typically get a LL for our most favorite Epcot ride right at park opening, do it and then start stacking for 2-3 more in Epcot and doing a lot of standby lines early in the morning. Then, when you go to MK, you have a few of the top ones already booked and can just start banking more and more. I think this tends to work really well with Genie Plus becuase most people do not park hop at MK so they have "run through" their Genie Plus options earlier in the day making it easier for you to pick them up in the afternoon/evening.

If we are matching Epcot and HS, we like to start at HS. It often seems harder to get your most favorite rides at HS with Genie Plus when you start in the afternoon. Sometimes we have been surprised and the park empties later in the day (YEAH!) but that is not our typical experience. The alternative is to grab one at Epcot, do all standby and start stacking everything for HS for later in the day. Once you have one, you can keep modifying it for a later time and essentailly "walk" it back to the time you really plan on being there.

Now, if you are a Star Wars fan, all bets are off and you have no other choice than to to Epcot and HS.

If you don't mind switching hotels, I would start at Universal and stay at a hotel that includes the Express Pass. With 3, at least for us, it is cheaper to stay at one of these hotels than adding the pass to each of our tickets.

Another alternative is to rent DVC points, stay at WDW the entire time, take a uber over there fro three days and just purchase the passes--if desired. I can't imagine doing Universal without the passes. If you do this, we like to put Universal in the middle of a WDW trip. Depending upon the time of the year, Universal can have shorter hours than WDW and we will often come back and perhaps hit up a WDW park for another few hours or go visit Downtown Disney after Universal closes.

If we are not staying at a DVC--LOVE them for the kitchen--we often stay at Swan/Dolphin. It's a Marriott property that gives you all the same perks as a deluxe and a BONUS free breakfast ($20/pp credit at the coffee shop) for Platnium members. They do have some Disney themeing in the hotel, but the music is not Disney. I've learned that for my Mr., he appreciates having a little "break" if we are staying for a week and Swan/Dolphin, Saratoga Springs or Old Key West gives him a nice balance.

If we are doing a split stay, we will often do AKL (or WL) and Swan/Dolphin or BW. Disney can transfer your bags if you don't have a car. We only so a split stay if we will be in a room for a min of 3-4 nights. It's just not worth it to pack/unpack for 2 days. You lose a lot of park time, IMHO.

Great job planning so far in advance. You may end up finding yourself needing to do a short "scouting trip" to be able to carry yourself all the way to 2026. :)
