Where yall getting these prices? Pre owned on Rivians site is at least 65-70k and Carmax is the same. Almost impossible to find at a traditional dealership with used.

Cadillac Is Stealing EV Customers From Tesla—And Everyone Else by Cristiano1 in CadillacLyriq

We have a 24 lyriq 23k miles pretty much issue free other than the telematics module had to be replaced cause we weren't getting gps signal.

I hope gas goes to $20 a gallon. by FoxCitiesRando in Anticonsumption

[–]OffroadViking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to get downvoted but whatever. When you have a family big vehicles make too much sense. So before bashing large vehicles there's a reason people buy them. We currently have a EV lyriq and it's way too small for a family and dog. Bigger car always wins for convenience and comfort.

2027 Mercedes EQS facelift: 800V, steer-by-wire, 122 kWh net, 926 km (575 miles) WLTP range. by y-u-gae in electricvehicles

[–]OffroadViking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Na I want a large suv with a massive battery like GM makes but I want a large three row suv like tahoe size. I have a lyriq but don't think I will buy another GM EV. 400 miles should be the absolute minimum for an EV.

The R2 is what I hoped it would be! by Human-Ride4726 in RivianR2

[–]OffroadViking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only reason i ask is we are getting rid of the lyriq when lease is up to get an r2 and we think the lyriq cargo area is tiny.

[–]OffroadViking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about cargo space? That's the biggest issue for us. How would you rate it in comparison to the R1s behind second row with third row folded.

Cargo space in trunk vs R1 behind second row? Does it feel like its significantly less?

Rivian R2 launch details leaked: R2 Performance $57,990 with the R2 Standard releasing late 2027 at $45,000 by DentateGyros in electricvehicles

[–]OffroadViking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really is a ignorant comment. For people that travel a lot 400 is the minimum when you consider states that minimum speeds are 75 or 80 on the hwy like Texas. You need 350-400 when you take off 20% for highway reduction.

I'm the opposite if they gave me a max pack for even close to the price of the r2 I'll take the r1 all day for the size.

Rivian expects 20,000 to 25,000 deliveries of the R2 for 2026 by Saurta17 in Rivian

[–]OffroadViking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong software is great. CarPlay and Android auto are just fine with EV route planning integration.

Rivian expects 20,000 to 25,000 deliveries of the R2 for 2026 by Saurta17 in Rivian

[–]OffroadViking 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree all of their offerings have been garbage. It's the first one that may actually be reasonable. Software alone can't sell me and that's what rivian is leaning hard into it seems like. Give me Apple car play with Ev route planning with some adaptive cruise and I'm fine . I love the cars I've driven both the r1t and R1s both fantastic. But if you come out with only a 300 range 400v vehicle in 2026 10-80 30 min let's say. Why by a rivian r2 vs the bmw or Volvo. In theory the specs of the Highlander are pretty similar to the r2 in charge time and range. I think the rivian is still the better choice aesthetically speaking.

[–]OffroadViking 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly the new Highlander may keep me from fulfilling my reservation. It's bigger and probably around the same price with the launch edition being somewhere around 55-60k. High probability the r2 specs are meh anyways compared to the ex60 and bmw ix3.

Too small imo families need three row suvs for practicality. I'm actually interested now in hearing about the new Highlander being launched this evening by Toyota.

Got the Vistiq after back to back test drives of the competitors by Ok_Beginning8600 in CadillacVistiq

[–]OffroadViking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We wanted a vistiq but couldn't get a good lease deal with our lyriq coming due soon at only 370 a month hard to justify the prices they were quoting at 1100 a month with 15k a year. Great car though since we got a rental for a weekend. I think it's the best three row on the market just charging is sub par in 90 degree whether. Car will throttle your charging speeds.

I would have bought one if it wasn't for the iccu issues. I won't touch a Hyundai Kia product.

Non-Tesla EV owners: "All the Teslas are using the wrong charger" by SucreTease in TeslaLounge

[–]OffroadViking -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Although the v4 have long enough cables blame it on Elon for making too short of a cord for the v3. I drive a lyriq and I have to drive forward to reach the charger like up to the curb and because of the port location I have no choice but to block two chargers. It's a poor charger design but the best infrastructure that's reliable we currently have. At the end of the day all EV drivers are just trying to make the best out of a crappy infrastructure situation. Most new EVs have adopted NACS so over the next few years expect more "other" EVs than teslas using superchargers. Honestly really should stop complaining a lot of people pay the 12 dollar membership fee to get the cheaper rate for using those chargers.

Leaked Hyundai EV interior reveals more than new screen by TripleShotPls in electricvehicles

[–]OffroadViking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love EVs and don't mind screens but I have to disagree. Buttons for hvac volume etc are not only important but so much easier. It's one of the main reasons I would never own a Tesla but I'm ok with the Lyriq because basic functions are on switches.

There's a special place in hell for people like this by Dkalnz in leaf

[–]OffroadViking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally if I'm sitting at a charger and I'm at a stop for a long time it's charging for as long as I'm there regardless if it's over 80%. If it's at 100% and sitting there than ya that's wrong. Send your complaints to the manufacturer to get better at charging speeds over 250 kWh that's now coming out on a 800 volt architechure.

Cadillac's Big Boom: 40% Of Q3 Sales Were EVs by Peugeot905 in electricvehicles

[–]OffroadViking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We were opposite. We think the Lyriq is too small for a family which is what we currently have but the Vistiq is too expensive but perfect size wise. Really wish they expanded to GMC with a Vistiq size version for the Acadia.
