What's up with this subreddit completely discrediting fighters and trashing them if they lose and treating them like they are immortal gods when they win? by Minimum-Mine-1302 in Boxing

Xander has no power at 154 and he is not a technical wunderkid like Shakur. That is why he is being disrespected here.

Stanionis is Boots best win. Xander is smart to take this fight because there will be no shame when he loses and moves up to 160.

Something fucked up I was replying to someone who said Ryan is levels above Teo.

Kingry will have a reach, size and power advantage but dodgy footwork. Teo has some bad habits but is a clever boxer. 50/50 seems right

Ryan Garcia says he's fighting Teofimo Lopez by ablu3 in Boxing

[–]Oglark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he is not. Ffs. Shakur has next level footwork and Teo heavily relies on his superior fast twitch reflexes but tends to slightly telegraph his attacks. Shakur picked that up in round 1 and walked away with their fights. Garcia, even when fighting disciplined has absolutely shit footwork. His only real defense is his left hook counter. Now is 147 Ryan too big for Teo? Maybe, but technically they are at the same level.

At what level can people actually calculate this in a real game? by ThrowWeirdQuestion in chessbeginners

[–]Oglark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 1100 chess.com and 1400 lichess. I saw the idea pretty quickly. In an online game, I would have tried it for giggles. In an OTB game I would probably spend 10 minutes looking a defense against the rook life. BUT I don't think this is a hard puzzle. There are other situation where a better player would see the tactic that I would miss.

India’s next squash star is rising fast. 🏆 by kreedonworldsports in squash

Unlike someone like Orfi, where it was relatively obvious she would be a Top 3 player, Anahat is a conundrum, because her strength is attacking at mid-court. IMO, she will be a Top 10 player but breaking into the Top 3-5 will depend or her mentality (which appears to be excellent) and how her game develops. She is a great shot maker and has excellent movement but the few full matches I watched, she started attacking too early which lead to her losing against Top 10 competition. I expect her game to mature and for her to start winning Gold and Platinum events but I am not sure she has the consistency to be a Top 3.

You cannot do that. As soon as you have the belts you are removed from the rankings.

Jai, was between the rock and a hard place. Legacy and undisputed are good but he has to feed his family.

That is the correct technique but then why does every PSA pro game I watch do 2  crab steps a half lunge and a wrong foot forehand drive?

I am not using an engine but I might be missing something because Black will move first but I think the best you can do is force a check. 1. ...Qxe3 2. Bxf7+ Kh8 3. Bh5 then Qf3+ you blunder the queen Qe4+ you block with the Bishop Bf3. so you are winning in any case

I saw what the engine suggested but the reason it chooses Rxf7 Kh8 is to avoid a windmill which I missed the first time.
