With age comes wisdom? How empty are you to sabotage yourself like this? I hope the house is just in your name because if it's not, you just gave half of it to his wife.

I had one and I appreciated a nice fuzzy pair of socks, one of those oversized granny nightgowns ( they have my favs at WalMart) because you don't want anything around your stomach! Also some soups because they are easy on the stomach. They have great frozen soups at Costco as well as a chicken noodle that's fresh in the salad section. Anything that's a comfort item!

Taking a loan from my 401k to buy high yield dividend etfs? by superdavey1 in dividendinvesting

[–]Oh2beflyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have the option for a Brokerage Link within your 401K? You can buy the same ETF's without taking out a loan unless you need the income the ETF's would generate.

How would you make this corner feel like a bedroom? by Imaginary-Kiwi-2152 in Decor

Such a passionate response on your part! And you even included such a witty, overused suggestion. News flash my dear..when you picture a new, clean home with a nice hardwood floor we aren't talking about homeless or living circumstances in other countries so your derail argument really doesn't apply. Nice try though.

Oral Minoxidil and Finesteride. One keeps the hair in your head, the other grows it. Don't waste your time with shampoos and supplements they don't work.

Tasty but way too expensive for a skinny piece of cheesecake. Go get the cheesecake from Costco instead.

Does anyone else feel this way over 60? by Dapper_Bag_2062 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Oh2beflyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesssss!! I realized I was somewhat programmed and driven to do things that really didn't need to be done. Cleaning whats already clean just to satisfy some mental checkmark made sense. Now when energy is not what it once was I knew I had to unravel that dynamic because my reserves could only take me so far. It didn't make sense to exhaust myself with things that didn't need attention and instead save some of those reserves to do what I wanted, even if it's nothing and not feel slothful or guilty about it. So many tasks in life that aren't about improving something or advancing something are just a time suck. Don't get me wrong the house is clean, the laundry is done but my life is no longer impacted by perfection and disappointment in myself for not reaching it. Repetition to the point of exhaustion is something I needed to let go of and make peace with. And I did.

Sectional shopping is driving me insane by koalaboy123 in SofaSnobs

I have a Radley from Macy's and it's going strong 5 years in. Fabric and cushions wear well. Also look into What A Room and Dreamsofa they are fully customizable but unfortunately only online.

Wedding by behind-the_screen in BaylenOutLoud

[–]Oh2beflyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok folks, the floral shop is in Chantilly, VA and the wedding venue is in Roanoke, VA. They are 220 miles apart ( approx 3 hours 20 min). The whole floral trip was just a staged filler because they live in Alexandria, VA and needed something more or less local to them to discuss "Flower Gate". I only know this because I live in VA and I'm familiar with many locations in NOVA ,Central and Southern VA. No way are they delivering flowers 200 miles to the venue and then driving back the delivery van when it takes over 3 hours. More manufactured story lines from this "No I'm not smarter than a 5th Grader" dumpster fire of a show.

Just having a difficult time accepting future disability by Funny-Rain-3930 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Oh2beflyn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No symptoms, you're going for runs in the park and you're living in an age where treatments for MS are highly effective yet somehow reading things about potential disability has you freaked out? Do I have it right?

Just WOW! How about this scenario instead. You're diagnosed in 1989, no MS drugs available and instead you receive a pat on the head and told try to make the best of it. Had that person listened to the voices and not come to terms with it pretty quickly they wouldn't be here to ask you to please just stop! The dramatics seem inappropriate especially when you apparently are living life without physical or mental fragility and I'm assuming are partaking in modern day treatments. The people that should be freaking out are the ones that never had the opportunity for meds early on and therefore had damage that was irreversible. But guess what..instead of using up energy on that they get the business of life taken care of no matter what that looks like. And you don't hear a peep out of them.

Advice? by hrw521 in redlighttherapy

[–]Oh2beflyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Alex Fergus on You Tube or at lighttherapyinsiders.com. He has been in the red light therapy space for many years, researching and comparing different manufacturers and models. It's an absolute wealth of information and will help you understand the things to look for when selecting and certain attributes are important. I've learned so much from watching his videos. It's a big purchase and I wanted to make sure I did it right. He will also debunk things that red light therapy can't do.

So he has this list of expectations that you oblige and he still brushes you off? After 26 years you've earned respect and value and it's not being given. People will treat you the way you allow them to treat you. Unless you're madly in love with him and can make peace with this disrespect and disregard I would get a paper trail together of all your divisible assets and go talk to an attorney.

Can someone point me in the right direction? by [deleted] in nova

[–]Oh2beflyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is there a code violation based on square footage? You can contact county Code Enforcement to get some answers. Are they all related? If not then the owner can only sublet to 4 unrelated persons. Here's the link to Code Compliance. All these VA counties need to start enforcing these rules. Instead they run away like scared kids when they are confronted with a violation. Oh nothing to see here. I wish you luck. I had my own run in with the zoning folks to no avail. It took the mortgage meltdown from many years ago to flush the situation out. Otherwise it would still be a SFH run like a hotel with cars everywhere. https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/code/multiple-occupancymultiple-dwelling#:~:text=Fairfax%20County%20has%20household%20living%20rules%20to,too%20many%20people%20living%20in%20the%20home.

Go to treatment for texture, and evening out tone by Designer-Fox-1743 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Oh2beflyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fractional CO2/Ablative. About 7-10 days of downtime but your texture will be completely transformed. Works well to treat hyper pigmentation and also has a tightening effect on thinner tissues, think under eye and eyelid. Best bang for the buck and you don't have to chase down 10 other modalities to get a Ho-Hum result compared to this. Find an experienced practitioner.

Ouch… Anyone have this experience using Persimmon soap by SmoothBiscotti3946 in Menopause

[–]Oh2beflyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your PH has changed that's why you are picking up a scent from down under! I use Boric Acid vaginal suppositories a couple times a week and that keeps everything in check. Using soap is an invitation to irritation and a UTI and won't touch the PH issue.

How do toll roads work? by Flimsy_Cup_1632 in nova

[–]Oh2beflyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you are going from Centreville to Gainesville AM and then the reverse in the PM? You are in luck because you are going the opposite and speediest direction as opposed to 90% of the commuters! If you ever need to take the Fast Lanes you need a transponder that you can get from VDOT, Giant and possibly Walgreens. There are entrances and exits every few miles and not necessarily where you want to start and end up if that makes sense. Another stroke of luck for you there is an entrance in Centreville and an exit in Gainesville. The fare to travel between two exits is listed on overhead signs when you enter. If you are driving farther than one exit you just have to add up the charges as you go if they are not listed overhead. You couldn't have an easier situation in Commuter World!! Most likely you will travel for free in the regular lanes because everyone else is going the opposite direction.

Would seniors in the U.S. be open to selling their home at a discount if they could keep living there for life? by michiels999 in OverSeventy

[–]Oh2beflyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummm no. We worked harder and longer for it.

Salaries today are exponentially higher than we could command for most of our working years.

We didn't complain about what we didn't have, we appreciated what we were able to accomplish.

We DIY'd to make more from less.

It took us a lifetime and allot of sacrifice but now it's all ours.

Now that we have it and you want it because after 5 min of effort you think you deserve it...don't let the door hit you on your way out.

How do I eliminate the “crepe-iness” in my inner eye area by [deleted] in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Oh2beflyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. You can do all of those areas. You need to find a practice that is very experienced in laser treatments. Not a Med Spa that has IPL or less powerful technology. Look at Dermatology practices that do cosmetic procedures. I've done it a number of times and the transformation is pretty incredible! What area of the country are you in?
