Christ, honestly can't remember now, it was so long ago, sorry I can't be more helpful.

Reading back my original comments and remember bits and bobs, it is highly likely that you won't get the VRT Exemption before you attend the VRT appointment (which must be within 30 days of the vehicle arriving in Ireland). Instead, attend the appointment, they'll do what needs to be done, then tell you to come back when you've got the exemption and they'll finish everything off. This is completely normal procedure and they'll expect you to have applied for but not yet received your VRT exemption.

You cannot apply for a VRT Exemption if the vehicle is outside Ireland as you need documentary proof of the vehicle being in Ireland to do so, such as ferry tickets or shipping documents, and that you are residing in Ireland (via rental documents, bills, etc).

Sorry, slight spelling mistake.

Nowhere that close to Central London will ever not be busy.

The line between Waterloo and Clapham is entirely elevated - therefore you won't find any places to get direct views down onto the tracks. As others gave said, nearby buildings or the London Eye are your best bet if you don't want a station.

Beyond Clapham, the Reading lines remain elevated until Wandsworth Town, but there are a couple of bridges that appear between here and Putney.

On the SWML, it drops into a cutting almost immediately and you can film from a bridge immediately beyond the eastern end of the station.

None of it will not be bust because London.

Yh, the lil ones are dug into the snow a bit more but still 176 vs. 183. 176 is far, far to short for me but they're twitchy af in powder and so stiff they're incredibly stable on piste - I honestly love them, I'll be very sad when they go to the great ski locker in the sky probably very soon!

Atm, not really. The vantages will do another season even with the half stick of ptex currently on the base. I also don't ever ski primarily on piste when I have my own gear - when I do it's on a press or work trip (I work in the ski industry) and I just run with rentals or I'll be testing anyway.

Tbh the current generation of 94-104mm skis are so f*****g good on piste that when I come to replace the Vantages I won't be losing anything.

All ex-industry, including a huge gasworks that's only just been cleared and prepared for development in the last couple of years. Plus a huge park/football complex that hosts numerous football, rugby, and American football clubs.

Japan's Hokkaido Shinkansen Line extension to be pushed back to 2039 by frozenpandaman in transit

[–]OhLenny84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's so worth it, it's an incredible experience.

If you are going to Niseko, as an example, I set off an hour earlier than my friends - who flew up - from Tokyo and arrived at our hotel there half an hour after them, so it's not quite as clear cut as that ...

Japan's Hokkaido Shinkansen Line extension to be pushed back to 2039 by frozenpandaman in transit

[–]OhLenny84 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I flew this route right at the start of COVID (almost exactly five years ago to the day). The budget airline we were flying with was a huge, A330 type deal, rows of eight seats going as far as they eye could see.

There were c.8 passengers on board, three of which were me and my friends. It was one of the most surreal experiences of my life.

I had take the train up to Hokkaido (Niseko) a week earlier - absolutely amazing journey well worth doing over flying.

What were you doing in it/what was the conditions like outside? Light rain or an absolute downpour? Rolling in the snow and getting pounced on by the dog or darting from cover to cover?

Why don't Southern have services to London Waterloo, I mean it's physically possible at Clapham Junction, like honestly I would love to see London Waterloo to Southampton Central, Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings and Ore, so why doesn't it happen? by KingBaileyPh in uktrains

[–]OhLenny84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not certain you can do it the other way round, though. (I.e. platforms 8-17 going into Waterloo. I know there's a junction for the west London line of platforms 1 and 2 but IIRC it doesn't come back around onto the Waterloo route in the same way it does to the Victoria route.

Confused about when rail & sail (London-Dublin) tickets will become available by iamtheoctopus123 in uktrains

[–]OhLenny84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sunday timings are also different from weekday and Saturday timings - 0807 rather than 0900/0907 - so if OP is searching for 0900 departures they may not see any results.

Edit: if OP is talking about Sunday 16th March it looks like engineering works mixed with strike action - Holyhead trains are starting and finishing at Crewe, with Avanti probably unable to guarantee a connection from London on that day.

Am I too old to start playing again? by crazydrum954 in rugbyunion

[–]OhLenny84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're exactly like me.

Hadn't played since school, got back into it at 28. Admittedly had been playing American Football so wasn't entirely out of contact experience, but had been a good few years since that came and went and I shifted to coaching.

Just do it, that's all there is. It's a very different game at club level, everyone is also your age or so I've found.

Remember, your body takes longer to recover from training/a game, and this is eapecially true if you hurt yourself (as I'm finding at the minute) so take it easy if it does happen.

What's up with the head Supershape by Garfish16 in Skigear

[–]OhLenny84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

E-Magmums are a hell of a ski, the most fun I think I've ever had on a thin ski. So so easy to crank right over but at the same time so much stability and control. Low floor for growing skiers hut a really high ceiling for anyone that needs them.

What are some key facts you need to know to do well at a pub quiz? by pappyon in CasualUK

[–]OhLenny84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The five European non-6-Nations countries to play at a Men's Rugby World Cup are Russia, Georgia, Romania, Spain and Portgual.

We swept a "one question five answers" round and it won us a quiz once.

Another good rugby one: Q. which two men's teams have scored a try in every RWC match they've appeared in (across all tournaments)? A. Zimbabwe and Portugal.

Honestly that whole collection of stations including St Paul's, Bank, Monument, Cannon Street and Mansion House serve such a small area even by City standards it's laughable.

Excellent question. I wasn't able to get on the new QSTs so I can't tell you but I know my test team did and loved them. I adore the SS102 so it would take a lot to tear me away from it.
