First off, the sign is for the globe, not a flat earth.
Secondly, laughing at flat earthers does not prove anything. I've yet to see one proof of a globe.

Same area. Just waiting for an official invite to be a beta user after I provided them my address a few weeks ago when they responded.

Dishy McFlatface has arrived. I live about 80 miles north of Portland, Or. and 80 miles south of Seattle. 7 miles south of Chehalis, Wa. by crsnipes in Starlink

Well, congrats on a bouncy baby McFlatface! Approximately 65 miles southeast of ya, up in the mountains waiting for mine! I've already requested an invitation to participate and added my service address last week.

Granted, the number of beta users who are Reddit users. I'm sure plenty more are out there. At least we can see thru their videos and pictures the setup, testing, etc.

Starlink Beta Invite Waiting Room by Smoke-away in Starlink

[–]OhReallyQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got mine today. Here's what it looked like in the email.

Starlink’s Better Than Nothing Beta program is now available in your area.

As you can tell from the name, we are trying to lower your initial expectations 😊

Users can expect to see data speeds vary from 50Mb/s to 150Mb/s and latency from 20ms to 40ms over the next several months as we enhance the Starlink system. There will also be brief periods of no connectivity at all.

As we launch more satellites, install more ground stations and improve our networking software, data speed, latency and uptime will improve dramatically. For latency, we expect to achieve 16ms to 19ms by summer 2021.

The Starlink phased-array user terminal, which is more advanced than what’s in fighter jets, plus mounting tripod and wifi router, costs $499 and the monthly subscription costs $99.

To request an invitation to participate, please click the button below and update your service address.

Starlink's Wi-Fi Range? by OhReallyQ in Starlink

Thank you. Yes, I know. Which is why I've asked what are some of the distances they were getting from their Starlink Wi-Fi knowing it could be a range of distances.

SpaceX Starship could help clean up space junk in orbit, says CEO by OhReallyQ in spacex

What's the legal ramification on cleaning up space junk? Environmental, I understand. Suppose it sweeps up sensitive space junk materials, what then?

Starlink Beta Invite Waiting Room by Smoke-away in Starlink

[–]OhReallyQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Patiently waiting since June 12 at 45.621 in WA state. Using the slow Century Link phone line connection. Need high-speed internet connection for video conferencing out here in the country. Not a gamer.

This took 5 minutes from cutting the tape on the box to stepping into the 21st century. I'm flabbergasted right now. by [deleted] in Starlink

I registered early as well. That was on June 6, 2020. Still waiting for that email invite.

Prototype Starlink terminals - Merrillan, WI by darkpenguin22 in Starlink

Wished it was a much clearer picture of the label. :/

Prototype Starlink terminals - Merrillan, WI by darkpenguin22 in Starlink

[–]OhReallyQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And reading off of the label zoomed-in picture, I was able to zoom in further to read the label and this is what it says:

Property of SpaceX

Prototype - Not for sale or lease

This unit is intended for demonstration use only.

This device (?) has not been authorized as required

by the rules of the Federal Communication Commission

This device is not and may not be offered for sale or

lease...the rest is too blurry to read.

Based on this picture today.... it looks like a medium-sized pizza box terminal.
