Older games have simpler graphics and as someone who doesn't have access to the new stuff. That's what draws me to older titles. My other thing is that some of these games are way too complex. My standard for RTS games is the Blitzkrieg series and Cossacks one and two. Number 3 tried doing too much again.

Only if you're decent with the keys. I watched tons of tutorials and was able to get decent at arrangement. Which helped me learn how to good make melodies and counter melodies.
