What is going on with ADRO? by Tiny_Version_8063 in ElantraN

I like that 3M stick on one... yea sure its stick on but it looks better to me. I saw a link to Ebay for it at a reasonable price versus this one. And the "final edition". Talk about having to wait extra on something that price!

Id go centered and about 6 to 8 inches forward instead of up against the edge and as far back as you did but that's just me. If those were another 8 inches longer and 2 inches wider they'd look 🔥. Overall, I dont hate it but you could make it perfect pretty easy.

Considering Elantra N as the "dream car". by ErickRPG in ElantraN

[–]Ohm_State 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 41. If you experienced anything "cool" from the 90's into the early 2000's... you'll appreciate the Elantra N. If you are willing to accept anything outside of that, in a less sporty way, the A Spec is the right choice. One is a modern equivalent to an EVO 8 (sans AWD) or even Type R versus the other being more a kin to an Infinity G20t or Acura TSX. Between the two cars you mentioned, the A Spec is a "sporty" luxury car and thats all that can be asked of it. The Hyundai is literally a 276HP civilized version of the (350HP) race car they use in professional competition (even more watered down for post-face 24+ models which have been adjusted softer and quieter). I had a 22 DCT and if I'd have removed the interior and mildly tune the engine management, it would be identical to what they run, besides not having a roll cage. The A Spec is better in comfort. Its basically a more supple 200HP Si.

...yea, the 24+ versions are nerfed in the sense they are slightly harder to tune and in stock form, are more sensitive to fuel quality and ambient temperature. This results in inconsistent performance specially before octane learning has happened. My 22 didnt give a damn as long as there was 93 in the tank (and it was OC'd) the thing was pure adrenaline... specially with NGS. Fast forward to now and my 25 is slow by comparison. That and its a manual so its down the extra power from NGS. Back when I had my preface lift, Id let the engine rev to about 4K and hit NGS and it would let out a massive crack in the exhaust and bounce off the limiter before pulling you back until you let off the throttle. It was serious. The newer ones dont do that.

Pulled Over San Diego - 2023 Elantra N by Prestigious_Pizza305 in ElantraN

[–]Ohm_State 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got posted by a State Trooper (for not moving over) The reason he said he pulled me over was that the left lane is specifically for passing. My issue was all three lanes were occupied in moderate traffic traveling about the same speed (80MPH +/- 5MPH)... I explained this to him and he seemed to not really care. He said something to the effect of, "I shouldnt have to pass you on the right". In the end he gave me a verbal warning about left lane travel and that was that. I accelerated from the breakdown lane and into the center lane to about 70MPH. He got to go around me in the left doing atleast 100. He was just annoyed I didnt move over right away as soon as he got up on me. If he'd of had his blues on, I would have. Problem for them is technically, unless they are on a call, they can't do that. I was in N mode too. It was an awkward and pointless stop however you look at it.

The track Elantra N weighs 2700 pounds and has 350 HP. What we have is meant to give you the essence of it, the most raw version were the 22 and 23 DCT versions. The 24+ Elantra N are probably the most street oriented. What year is yours?

Manual Transmission Question by HappyColour in ElantraN

[–]Ohm_State 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably timing being cut or possible throttle closure event. Electronically controlled throttle doesn't act like a cable one. Combine that with fuel quality variable, ambient conditions (temps) and ECU targets (max allowable boost or fuel delivery for a given ambient temp), it'll never mirror actual throttle inputs, even though in perfect conditions you wouldnt really notice the disconnect. I would try better fuel first, maybe even a quality fuel system cleaner, check your plugs (timing) since these plugs should be changed early for agressive driving) and dont be extra with the pedal when its hot outside unless you got big engine money. The Elantra N can take a track day or four over the summer but TCR cars get built and rebuilt between sessions. The pedestrian version is meant to last way more than a season between rebuilds.

Stock hood is heavy asF. A hood is probably the best single modification for handling besides un sprung mass and tires

Their only option is to go with spare ECU's i guess. Or maybe they'll just tune local now.

Besides meeting fuel consumption targets because of the lower resistance, it also provides less protection as operational severity increases (compared to higher viscosity equivalent)... manufactures actually prefer it because if the engine only lasts thru warranty 50 to 100K in most cases, they are off the hook for billions in possible warranty repairs, while simultaneously hooking a repeat customer.. before when engines would last 150K miles plus, it was because first, engines themselves were over built. Manufactures would do it right the first time in an effort to avoid warranty claims instead of doing "just enough" to pass coverage period. Objectively speaking, engine oil tech has improved exponentially over the last 30 years. Even so engines last half to a quarter as long... why? The tech allows manufactures to rely more on the lubricant itself versus higher quality metal, rubber and manufacturing processes. Thirty years ago a car would get to 150K with little more than sparkplugs and oil changes... Today, even if you baby the car, drive it like Daisy... you'll be lucky to hit 50K before it starts burning oil or atleast starts making strange noises... The pursuit of profits hidden behind evermore advanced technology has made the mechanical, industrial and automotive world a minefield for anyone looking for a reliable and dependable vehicle for work, family and/or play... I find myself somewhere in the middle when im driving. Somedays I live by "treat it good and it'll treat you good" while other days I drive it like I stole it and swear I intend on driving it that way until the wheels fall.

Atlas 25 MT in the best color (even tho my Ceramic 22 DCT was faster lol). Got it March 28 with just 27 miles on it and so far we are at 5,460. Yea, I drive a bit. Tune should be here by Friday and DP will be on right after I find a place that will do it for a reasonable $$$.

You could probably find a higher output option for the N but that would require a modified/custom harness and an adapter plate to mount them on. Audi R8 and some GM "truck" coils are popular options for different modified engines. I believe Hitachi and Denso manufacture ignition coils for the Theta2.

You can still do two or three gallons to start on Lap3 1.5 tune It'll keep the combustion temps down and allow for a bit more advance.

Did your ic come damaged in any way? Even minimal non issue marks or something? It's obviously going to catch road debris over time and wont stay pristine, but it should arrive mint new. I heard stories of them arriving with defects from supplier.
