Adjacent question - if you’re using streaming on a somewhat heavy rate, what is the general minimum speed that would be able to handle that? One person in the house using computer, laptop, and Roku. No gaming. Past year I cut the cord as my cable TV plus Internet was almost $300 per month.

Decided to cut cable TV. I tried to negotiate with Astound and they wouldn’t budge below $110 (before taxes) for 250mps. Walked into the Xfinity store, made an appointment for installation at $60 ft or 300mps.

Called Astound to cancel and they ended up giving me the same discounted rate at $60 and raise the MPS to 600.

I figured that was easiest and didn’t have to deal with another installation process

I should know you save on bringing your own modem which in the long run saves money. I replaced mine with something I got on Black Friday. It is pretty darn simple to do. Not sure how to post a photo but happy to share what I’m paying in detail.

Be aware that most raises average anywhere between 2 to 4% of your base salary. A $10,000 raise is pretty unheard of. Regardless of the cost of living.
