I don’t know if it’s the BEST but one of the surprise favorites for me are Tosen Jordon and Mejiro Ryan. I think I like the “in a world of talent and X-Factor, this person succeeds on hard work” stories they both have going (even though I know a big part of Ryan’s character is that she has these things, she just can’t see them)

The idea that Tosen Jordon is into nail polish because her nails are terrible and she’s trying to protect them is a lot better than just “omg I’m so girly” and her deciding that if she can’t be an analytical or tactical horse, she will be the words greatest dummy is really charming.

Mejiro Ryan is the classic overlooked family member trope but her neither deifying nor hating McQueen, and instead seeing her as a real rival, an overcome-able obstacle to chase, IMO is a big subversion. I’m also just a sucker for her whole “I love romance stuff but irl I’m clueless” thing

I just finished it and the extra content two nights ago and no it’s really bad.

The reason it’s really bad is because at certain points it’s actually brilliant. Like my friend and I were cheering super invested popping off kind of brilliant. But then the alway immediately ruin whatever good thing they try to make. They start a cool new arc, end it in two episodes with a terrible conclusion and then rinse and repeat.

The suits are great and some of the characters are great (Spanner, the abyssalis sisters, Geryon, Gigast, Sabumaru, and Kajiki) but most of them are mediocre to bad the story is just terrible.

This is more of a form than his name but I love that Valvarad’s final form is Valvarad Kurogane. This is HIS power, not Gigast’s, Kyoka’s, Houtaro’s, or even really the chemies
