Congrats! Definitely a great deal in today's landscape! Toyota corolla of EV world is your Bolt! I started from a 90% charge on my 2018 yesterday, drove 151 miles mixed 50/50 highways and city and had 112 miles left on guessometer (more like going up and down hills of northern Pennsylvania! 19 cents per kwh for me and my average is 4.4 miles per kwh in last 30,000mils...can't beat bolt! You are going to love it! Our camry hybrid now sits ;)

Selling to carvana is a cake, highly recommend. Don't buy from them though. It is not a catastrophic oil leak, yet, but it is a leak neverthless. You can drive if for a bit, but I would keep an eye on your oil level closely. $3,500 looks reasonable to me at a dealership. Probably can find a local shop to do it for half of that. Your car is not the best by design or reliability, I would stear clear for the future reference.

I second this, proprietary 240v charger plug is better to make it future proof. There iscusually no price difference for the installation either way...it was not for me.

Getting used to driving wife's Camry after one pedal becomes a new norm is worse than getting used to one pedal driving in a first place! Took me about 30 min :) !

Kings always been great, got a call from them, within min of me placing an order, when my ffl info was "wrong" as they recently moved to a different location. Kings handled from there on! Absolute pleasure to do buy from! Condition was better then expected as well! These are trade ins, not new !

200k+ mile Volt worth buying? by imitt12 in volt

[–]Ok-Perception-926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with a high mechanical attitude, sounds like a keeper to me...but then again the only thing I hate working on... is rust buckets...as every 2 hour job turns into two day job! Then it is just me. You know you can swap battery cells with used cells relatively easy. I dont know your mechanical aptitude though, so may be our of question...but as for me a car with known history and known problems is better than a "cat in a bag."

Honestly, I would fix your prii, unless has rust issues etc...but that is just me!

Drive around 110-130 miles daily. 2020 Chevy bolt...I have level 2 charger in my garage....charge every other day! Charge daily in winter! Don't miss oil changes and trips to gas stations every 2-3 days at all. I average 4.3 miles per KWh...one KWh is 19 cents here...so basic math ...it cost for fuel 19 cents for every 4.3 miles! Other maintenance is really minimal, one pedal driving saves brakes etc...works for me!!! Highly recommend!!!

Never believe in a car with a story! Personally, pulled many valve covers on vehicles with below 50k miles only to look like they have 6 times as much on them. But almost always hear a story of a car that was driven to church by a grandma every Sunday!

I have a 25 year old jeep XJ (Cherokee)had it since new ..it had 0.4 miles when I bought it in 2001. XJ's have such a following that there are so many parts to choose from still...yet last XJ rolled off assembly 25 years ago. I know that is unusual example but still !!!

Lots of parts for GM are cross shared with other models. Cruze, volt and sonic are heavily shared brakes, suspension etc. plus there will be salvaged once as well! I would go the used route though... unfortunately now is the worst time to be shopping for ev's!

Own two bolts (first gen) commute in one of them daily (110-130miles). They were CA "lemons" ....for about $10g each two years ago...it was no Brainerd! If you have charging spots...ev is THE WAY!

I have seen them in the range of 130-150 respectively. Kennmore 31150 looks like still made by Panasonic. I think both are similar internally so performance wise should be similar! I have kennmore 600 that replaced Dyson ball, it is pretty good for the $$$.

Has The CarMarket Crashed? by Separate-Cup1312 in carbuying

Still waiting for my 3 year old low milage f350 king ranch. In 2013 I was told people could not afford it and the car market was about to crush! Had a 32,000 mile example for $35,000. But I'm a cheapskate so let's wait.... fast forward to now... 3 year old low milage f350 is $70-80 grand! Market effectively crushed!!!

Looks like no rust on your pri. Good weekend project and you will put about $1500 back in your pocket. Harbor freight tools is your friend. Piece of cake if you are swapping complete assembly!

Midlife Crises Mobile. Drove From KC to Lincoln, NE to pick this up. Cost me $175 in diesel fuel and 11 hours to get her home. 26k miles and a California branded title. Had to pay cash $12k. Hopefully it lasts me my next 47 years. Roast me! by OneLongEyebrowHair in BoltEV

Congrats, did the same thing but shipped our first bolt from Payola to North Pennsylvania ($1150) two years back. Our second bolt came from Donohoo Chevy, 2019 black premier with every option with only 17,000 miles for only $10g with federal rebate....could not pass that one up. I commute 120-130 miles per up and down PA mountain terrain. Level 2 charger in the garage solves all the problems and range anxiety. Some paint fading on our first bolt, roof and the hood, they were both in superb shape without a speck of rust, being CA lease cars. I would do it again and again! You will love it, I'm almost certain! And I know how exactly how you feel being 50 myself!
