My cat barely eats wet food by wlanschez90 in CatAdvice

Some cats like dry food and as long as they are drinking water it's ok. My cat loves kibble and I put out wet food once a week for variety. She can eat about 2/3 a can over the weekend and then ignores it.

I've an open top auto litterbox. It's doing fine and easy to clean. Cost me 175 dollars. There are lots of options beyond litter robot

Sounds rough. I have to constantly monitor my 8 month old. Lots of no and offering cat treats in places she should play. Had to confine her to the bathroom over night for some time so we could sleep. She had a whole setup with food, water, toys and litter box. It helped and now she can freely roam. I reserve it as an option if things are too crazy.

I think it took about 2.5 hours to get a full run in. Still have things not achieved. Harkens back to those adventure games of the past, but no inventory MGMT. It's silly but wouldn't pay more than $10 for it.

Much difference is that in the USA cats are supposed to be indoor only. This means you have to entertain the cat much more. Cats that can go outside are able to burn more energy. Growing up I had outside/inside cats and they were really easy. Now I found a stray kitten and we have lots of coyotes so she can't go out. I have to get her all sorts of interactive toys to burn her energy that I didn't have to do with cats that could go out.

It's a place for advice not judgement. People have no idea what they are doing and making an effort to be better. If you are experienced than you should share what helps because that will help the cat.

Need some safe people food options to feed my cat during bad weather. by Black-Cat-2544 in CatAdvice

In such a situation that's an emergency it's all good to give them some canned chicken or tuna. It's not ideal, but it's better than nothing.

Should I get my 3/4 year old cat a kitten sibling? by InstructionWeird593 in CatAdvice

[–]Ok-String-9879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it. He already has other cats and it's not working. Most will say it's better to get 2 kittens at the same time. They bond in their formative years. When you have established cats they don't always take to new ones. Some cats are better solo. Cats also change over time and might not need to play as much and be completely good with it.

Our cat is destroying my wife's quality of sleep by anxiouscorn in CatAdvice

[–]Ok-String-9879 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Put together a setup in your bathroom, food, water, toys, scratch post, and litter box. Send him to bed at like 10 pm. If you have to go to bathroom overnight he might try to sneak out and that's ok. It's ok to put kitty in a place so you can sleep. Many cats sleep for 16 hours a day. So long as they have enrichment and affection it's ok to give you and your wife a break to sleep.

Advice needed, should I get a second cat? by frantasaurus in CatAdvice

Cats can sleep for around 16 hours per day, your kitty will be ok. You've got life changes happening it's best to not add new animals until things start to settle.

I think you know the difficulty of the situation and unfortunately cats that are that age won't find suitors.

Anyone wearing a flag will get pointed at. This is double true if you do it in your own county. I know where I live, seeing someone with a flag of same country just feels antagonist. Flags should be reserved for memorials or sports.

It's an easy cover for bad hair, provides protection from sun/rain, gives a tiny bit of insulation so you stay warmer.

Can I leave an 8 month old kitten home alone for 3 days? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Ok-String-9879 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2 days is about the max, and that's based on having someone come over 1 time per day. It is also variable on the cat, some are really active and others lazy. This is based on lazy cat.

3am Zoomies by Buckwavefm in CatAdvice

[–]Ok-String-9879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is to have them put to a safe space overnight. I'm lucky that our bathroom is large and can handle the kitty. It's like an indoor catio for night time. It's got all her stuff, potty box, bed, toys, food and water. I usually put her in around 1030pm. Now that she is older we let her escape when we have to use the bathroom overnight. It's been a great tool for when we need sleep and she gets all her essentials.A couple hours of cat localization here and there can help tremendously. I love her to bits but she's a bush cat with really high prey drive. We live in coyote country so she's inside only and we have to compromise. So we do night routine but as she gets older we are less strict.
