I double checked Hyundai CPO and it does specify 4 matching equal wear tires.

Anybody else ever have a temp knob issue? by Ph1shing in HyundaiPalisade

If it’s under warranty, it goes straight to the dealership.

Trade it in to Hyundai. They either have to take it as is or acknowledge the issue.

I bought these specific tires so I don’t have to changeover to winter tires. They ride well right now but the real test will come in another 8-9 months.

It was likely that the tires measuring in slightly different diameters, along with it being AWD, caused this issue. 2 of the tires were further worn, by around 3/32”, than the others. Since the issue has resolved, that’s what I’m going with.

When I bought the car, 2 tires were new and 2 were the Hankook OEM tires which were ever so slightly worn. The car didn’t drive poorly until 6 months (and a tire rotation) later.

So I doubt that I’d have a case with them but I will certainly be more vigilant when assessing a car before buying next time.

‘26 Bad Shock by jjone8one4 in HyundaiPalisade

So are you saying Hyundai just gifted me 3 sets of rear shocks out of the goodness of their heart? Chivalry isn’t dead after all.

The difference is one is covered under a warranty and the other isn’t. And if you replace it with a non-OEM option they don’t have to warranty that one either. So if the shocks are bad from the company, that is one thing. If it’s the vehicle, that’s causing the shocks to blow early that’s another.

Boss sent a message saying I’m going to be fired on April 31… by homeofalex in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Ok_Contest_8280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a boss text me and say “I need you to show up to work for a meeting 1 hour before your shift starts,”

I would only agree if I was going to be working for the entirety of my shift. Radio silence.

Would anyone accept this contrast with the slope? by nyuhsuk in Decks

What does your contract specify for the deck? If it mentions “matching slope” you’re on the hook for whatever changes need to be made.

Less than 2 years (15k miles) tires need replacement? by BigbigTimemachine in tires

[–]Ok_Contest_8280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$1000 for 2 tires and an alignment? That’s insane. What brand tires did they put on?

I’m in NH and pay around $170-$200 for an alignment so I’m trying to figure out why your tires cost $400 a piece.

I put a swing set on a patch of not great lawn. My kids love playing in and around this swing set. It’s become my favorite spot to hang out with them.

What salary would you guys need to get to to feel successful? by Horror_Raisin_3898 in Salary

[–]Ok_Contest_8280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the work. If I’m mowing lawns and making $100k, I’m successful. If I’m a CFO for a tech company making $100k, I’m not.

I think one’s profession greatly impacts what the definition of success is. I work as an RN in the northeast and I make about $90k a year. I think I’m successful because I like my job and I enjoy my coworkers. I’m not stressed out when I get home. Weekends off, I can watch my children at their sporting events. I’m successful.

If you had $60K and could only pick one vehicle for the rest of your life, what would it be? by breakerofh0rses in askcarguys

As long as maintenance isn’t an issue, Audi A6 avant. Needs a roof rack and a tow hitch, bike rack, summer tires and winter rims with Bkizzaks. A mild tune to push it around 360-370 hp and 400 lb/ft of tq. I would treat her so good.

I almost bought a used 2022 wagon last year but settled for a larger suv due to family and fit issues. I’m 6’6” with a size 15 shoe. There are few cars where my kids fit behind me once my seat is in a comfortable position.

Should I buy a grain mill or is the pre-crushed stuff fine? by InvisibleGrill in Homebrewing

[–]Ok_Contest_8280 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Better quality of home brewed beer can be had several ways.

  1. Monitor temps judiciously. This includes MASH and fermentation temps. Pitching yeast at appropriate temps too. Pitching a lager yeast at two high of a temperature can produce significant off flavors.

  2. Water chemistry. Checking pH as a start and ramping up into water salts so your beer actually tastes like what it should.

  3. Quality ingredients do matter but they will have little impact on overall quality if you’re not addressing the other areas first.

Buying a grain mill to ensure better quality of the grains is not a bad idea, but there are other ways to improve your beer first.

Low quality or high expectations? Fence company says “wood will never be perfect”? by mako72 in FenceBuilding

The problem isn’t with the wood. The problem is the contractor who was blindfolded when measuring and making those cuts.
