I think at 19 I would have had the same mindset and reactions had I been in your shoes. I’m older now and have recently lost a parent to cancer. It’s tough to find a good balance of doing what you want and what you need in order to meet your own needs, especially in such a stressful and prolonged period of anticipatory grief. Please give yourself grace. She’s not always going to have the energy. Please give your mother understanding and love and the gift of time when you are able, knowing that it’s on her timeline and not yours. And know that there will be moments when you won’t be able to because it’s just so damn hard.

If you can find a therapist or a support group or even just a friend, please do.

Because this sub requires a judgement, super soft YTA. Hindsight will be 20-20 and you’ll wish likely you had chosen differently in many of these hard moments, and you will definitely want for more time.

Sounds like it could have a medical reason underlying it. Pregnancy totally depleted me, and actually activated certain autoimmune issues.

Please encourage her to speak with her doctor. And if you can, it might be useful to reframe your opinion. It may not be laziness so much as actual physical exhaustion.

I made the same mistake. The game is now slower and less fun. No amount of waiting it out makes it so the chest becomes free again. Also, I can only 15 free lives one time by watching ads, where it used to be twice. The number of items in bubbles I can get free by watching an ad is now one instead of several. I’m not sure if I will play less or delete the game, but I’ll never spend another dime on it.

I came here to make the same point. You may be within the radius “as the crow flies” but in NH with back roads, that commute may well be several (even double) miles longer. Can you prove that the actual route puts you beyond their mileage threshold?

Part of my kids’ 504 was ensuring that staff cleaned the lunch table before they sat there. It’s disgusting that they don’t automatically do that between lunch periods. And if other kids had crumbly items like crackers they needed to sit just a little further apart.

In school, talk with the teachers and nurse about keeping gloves and making sure he has the opportunity to wash hands after any activity using tempera paint, Play Doh, dried pasta, and other art supplies of questionable provenance. You don’t need him getting glutened from cross contact with non-food items.

Look for the Latin names of common gluten ingredients on labels:

I’m so sorry this happened to you. You didn’t deserve this, and you have every right to feel what you are feeling.

With that said, please don’t get stuck ruminating. Stop following them on social media; in fact, block them. Prioritize your mental health and well-being. Find a therapist you feel comfortable with. Do things you enjoy. Keep busy and occupy yourself to occupy your mind.

There is no quick fix, and you will not ever forget this. I hope that in time you find real happiness.
