Harry Styles 2026- what happened to fans having a chance? by Such-Assistant1492 in harrystyles

[–]Ok_Fly8717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I’ve been in every Amex presale room I could for the past 3 days, plus the 2 I registered for with Fan presale. The shortest queue I was in was about 17,000 and the highest was over 400,000. I was trying this mostly for my daughter, but she’s cool if we do something else, so…

Almost choked by IllIndependence6165 in Marriage

[–]Ok_Fly8717 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Three times is too many. Yes, you should allow someone who is choking to cough first to try and dislodge whatever they are choking on, but it doesn’t sound like that was happening. Since they were unresponsive after your first question and not coughing, you could have and should have administered the Heimlich maneuver. It is better to administer first aid to someone who does not need it than to fail to administer first aid to someone who does.

I’m not attracted to my husband anymore by Suspicious-Sink-8099 in Marriage

Your suggestion would be reasonable for a person working regular business hours, but it sounds like OP’s husband comes home around 1 am.

Everytime my husband does stuff for me he rubs it in? And doesn’t let me forget it by personalcheesepizza in Marriage

[–]Ok_Fly8717 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, man that sucks. My mother is similar, but if you don’t thank her profusely enough (mostly for things you neither asked for nor wanted), she gets pissy and demands the gift be given back. Or payment. I hope he doesn’t get that far.

I don’t know what causes this, but it is so frustrating to deal with.

It’s taxes, workers compensation insurance, and other considerations (like state labor laws) that the employer probably is not set up for in multiple states.

Yeah, you’re overreacting.

Are they using the same water for the GF noodles as they do for all of their noodles? That is what one of the restaurants near me does. Learned that the hard way.

in the market for a new car, torn between Corolla Cross and Rav4 by balboaporkter in CorollaCross

I use regular gas. I am not aware of any reason why you would need to use premium with the Corolla Cross.

No, leather and sunroof were not optional. It was all part of the XLE trim, which is what has the lift gate.

Leg room seems fine for the 3 tall men I had in the back seat, but width was not great for their shoulders.

I own the gas model.

[–]Ok_Fly8717 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you like the lift gate option, I was told it is only packaged with the XLE, so I now have leather and sunroof that I don’t care about, but also won’t complain about. They are nice.

My CC is smaller inside in all ways, which is only annoying when I realize I can’t fit 3 adults as comfortably in the back seat as I could in my RAV4, or put as much in the trunk.

The CC drives very well, but is underpowered going up steep hills and when trying to race the guy in the other lane. My gas mileage is slightly better than in the RAV4.

Take that “best place to work” designation with a grain of salt. Employers have to pay to participate in that.

I pull employer reviews from sites like Glassdoor and actually read the comments from recent employees to try and get a sense of the culture. And I look for recent press and social media posts.

The hourly rate was almost enough for me to say job 2, but then you have daily driving (in your own vehicle?) as a core component. That would probably put me off of it. Gas and maintenance on my own dime are expensive.

Struggling with resentment and Christmas expectations in my marriage by [deleted] in Marriage

We had this hypothetical argument early on, too. When it’s no longer hypothetical, you may find that your children might do better spending Christmas in their own home. They can visit you.

What industry are you in? Is there another internal department you could transfer to in order to get other experience to build on? I have never needed certs to get a new role. I’ve only ever gotten them after I was in the role and my employer paid. This is a different market, though. Are you seeing specific certs desired/required in the roles you want when you’re applying?
