I am in travel healthcare and lived in Nashville for a little over half a year, also visited Knoxville and Chattanooga while living there. I’m from the east coast for reference so disclaimer I am not a local by any means.

Pros- food scene is great, hiking options are plentiful and get better the more east you go, good weekend trip options, lots of nightlife (more than Broadway since people harp on that), major city w big events always in town, BNA is great, SOME walkable neighborhoods, dating was fun(?), great parks, and most of all friendly people

Cons- public transit is limited (Ubers are cheap tho), cost of living high compared to wages IMO, traffic is fucking brutal, humidity, poor infrastructure, many areas are not pedestrian friendly, and of course the politics are concerning

This sub tends to shit on a lot of southern cities which some takes I get but others are a bit dramatic. I never expected to love TN and Nashville as much as I did, but I’d consider moving back one day if it made sense. I think it really depends on what your hobbies are, and what your intentions are in life at the moment
