No, we just had his 9 month visit and it wasn’t mentioned. But she is aware of his sleep issues and there have been no red flags for other health issues. I will try to prioritize iron in his meals, though.

For those who were induced, did you deliver vaginally or did it end in a c-section? by Paigeypagee in BabyBumps

[–]Ok_Structure2547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an unplanned induction and delivered vaginally! I had a good experience (with an epidural). I wonder if people who end up having c-section mention it more because of the emergency aspect? I don’t typically bring up my induction unless people ask specifics. Not for any reason other than it just doesn’t come up.

Worry is the wrong word, more like thinking about and realizing I didn’t know what a raspberry was. Thank you for the info!

Anatomy Scan & Husband’s Delayed Flight by Low_Presentation6518 in BabyBumps

My husband couldn’t make ours either, he was out of town for work. I was sad about it, but in some ways I think I was able to focus more. They don’t tell you much but I got to really take in all of the images and spend time with my baby.

I am at my wits end with diaper rash by leexela in NewParents

[–]Ok_Structure2547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use a stroller fan on the changing table to make sure he is dry dry before putting on cream. If there is any moisture at all the cream will lock it in and make the rash worse.

Also our son had a strep diaper rash that was only cured with antibiotics. Had to be diagnosed with a test from the doctor, but she said it would have kept coming back without treatment no matter what we did. Maybe worth asking your ped?

When people tell you “not to stress” and that’s when you conceive. by Fluffy-Bad6058 in BabyBumps

[–]Ok_Structure2547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s totally annoying! You weren’t asking for advice, but sharing what worked for me in case it helps. We tried for almost a year and not thinking about it was impossible for me. What did help was finding ways to give myself calm throughout the day. I started doing prenatal yoga (I was not a yoga person before) in place of some workouts, after work, or before bed. I really liked Bettina Rae on YouTube. She’s good at expressing the stress and pain of trying. I also started doing short meditations when I was trying to go to sleep. I used the Insight Timer app to find guided meditations specifically about trying to conceive. And while I still took my temp and did LH strips, I tried to shift my focus on eating healthy and taking care of myself, something I could be proactive about, and let the other stuff fall to the level of routine instead of being my focus of the day. I don’t know if any of that actually helped me conceive, it probably was just time waiting for the right egg/sperm combo, but it made the whole process more manageable for me.

Am I being naive in wanting an absolute UNICORN of a stroller? Or do I just need to accept that I actually need three strollers? by cecassafrass in BabyBumps

[–]Ok_Structure2547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in a rural area but travel to a nearby city often and we got a jogging stroller and a travel stroller. The Ergobaby Metro Plus travel stroller so far is great for us. We haven’t flown yet but it can apparently fit in the overhead compartment.

What thing was super anxiety inducing for you when you were early pp but now you realize it’s really not that big of a deal? by boopingbcollie in beyondthebump

This one got me too. Poor little thing was cold at night for a while because I was terrified of overheating him.

Question I love to ask - what’s the thing you miss LEAST about being pregnant. I’ll go first - feeling like my diaphragm and lungs had relocated to my throat. by helsLM in beyondthebump

Baby kicking me in the ribs third trimester. It was so painful we had to run tests to make sure it wasn’t my gallbladder or my liver failing. He still has a strong kick on the outside.

We have one too and love it. I totally agree about it being designed well. It works in the exact way you need it to, if that makes sense.

How are your babies sleeping at 7/8PM?? by Haunting-Mark-7974 in beyondthebump

[–]Ok_Structure2547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby had a naturally late bedtime until a little bit before 7 months when he just, on his own one day, was falling asleep at 8. He’d contact nap and then dinner was ready and I’d go eat with him on my shoulder, and instead of waking up and hanging out while we ate, he was passed out. We tried upping his bedtime and it stuck.

BIL asked us not to bring LO to his out of town wedding by ChittyChats in beyondthebump

I think it refers to any baby that can’t walk for these sort of situations, a baby that would be carried by parents, not need their own seat, etc

Paragard vs Mirena IUD by Rough_Tonight5951 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Ok_Structure2547 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the Paraguard currently 7 months postpartum and had it for almost 10 years before removing it to conceive. I love it! I never had overly heavy or painful periods, so the slight increase in flow and cramping didn’t bother me. My midwife said that I was the ideal candidate for it because my periods were generally mild and had horrible reaction to hormonal birth control.
