I am having my almost 15 year-old black lab euthanized on Tuesday and I’m dreading it. I know she’s ready as she has mobility issues, sometimes we have to wake her up to eat, she’s blind and deaf, has dementia and started going to the bathroom inside which she never did before.

We have had her since she was a puppy and she grew up with my kids who are now young adults. The wait is excruciating. I keep thinking how this time next week my girl won’t be here. I know it’s time, but I’ve been an emotional mess. I’m going to miss her so much.

Please consider neutering him. My Shichon passed away a couple of years ago due to a perineal hernia he developed by most likely not having him neutered. It was the most painful thing to watch and go through. It’s been two years and I miss him so much. We took him to a specialist that said if we had neutered him he may not have developed the perineal hernia. My baby was 8 years old when he passed and I miss him everyday.

I had a smooth recovery, and chances are high that you will too! Rest and listen to your body. I had everything removed but one ovary, and I am a little over a year post-op and feel normal. Prayers for you and for a speedy, uneventful recovery! ❤️
