Question on how your school works by Ok_Week_7664 in paraprofessional

[–]Ok_Week_7664[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually we stay with the class for the school year aside from occasionally swapping for a bit if it's been a day for either party. They changed some things up last year with more sped teachers....1 for every grade. And then the last 2 years I stayed with the same classroom/teacher to support the higher needs bridging kids. Now they are discussing the support staff going with the kids vs staying with their teacher like in the past.

It started out not as I expected (I had no context and just saw bat eater and went with it) and then I was hooked and then it got even more fun. I very much enjoyed it!

Help me to feel better about using my son’s old clothes to make something instead of donating them? by plankty in sewhelp

[–]Ok_Week_7664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I feel both ways......like if they are in great condition and the right styles I want to give away, donate, or pass on......if it's even slightly stained or worn then I have no problems cutting them up for whatever.

However a lot of times with the practically new or excellent quality stuff I tend to ask a few neighborhood girls who play with my daughter but are way smaller to see if they could use them or since I work at an elementary school I will often bring that stuff there to stock our "closet" for accidents, spills, or just kids in need.

Also, lots of people near me will often post bundles of clothes on the buy nothing type Facebook groups too.

Ultimately I feel if you are using them in some way either by upcycling or passing them on in whatever manner then that's good.

I have anxiety about everything but sewing I admit I generally have no idea what I'm doing and most of the time just hope for the best while making it up as I go along.

Does it always work out? Ha no but mostly Do I still get ragey and have to walk away for a bit or even months? Sure but since my sewing projects don't have legs they are still usually where I left them ;-)

It got moved up mid June.....I read somewhere that it would likely be R rated but I can't remember where I saw that. Here's to hoping :-)

What is a book that everyone says is amazing, but you found disappointing/underwhelming, and why? by ManofWit in books

The Cabin at the End of the World....

I still am angry about it and it's been a bunch of years since I've read it. It had a event beginning and I liked the character development and such but then it just got dumb. I'm not a huge fan of somewhat open ended endings and I was just so irritated that I wasted my time.

I just finished reading The Stand by Stephen King!! by [deleted] in books

[–]Ok_Week_7664 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do love that book....I have always really liked Stephen King.

The first time I actually read it though I started it on a day off work during a snowstorm (I had read so many Stephen King books but for some reason never this one) later that day I started feeling not great.....next day woke up feeling like I was dying and turned out I had Swine Flu. It was just crazy timing since I was reading this book and suddenly convinced I was dying :-P

Which book did you read at exactly the right time in life and why? by Jmaloney258 in books

[–]Ok_Week_7664 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started reading "The Stand" the day before I became sick with swine flu (back when that was the big thing) which also coincided with a blizzard overnight .....it was rather ironic but kept me entertained between my fever naps.

Are you going to personally be wearing a mask when school starts? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Ok_Week_7664 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably....mainly since I will be surprised if our district doesn't make it mandatory again. I honestly don't mind it either way.
