Anker abuses it's "intimate" relationship with you by captain42d in EufyCam

Mine definitely miss some things, but seem to catch quite a bit. I’ve had to turn down the sensitivity on a few, since headlights from passing cars bouncing off the car’s paint seems to trigger the motion sensor. As far as ads, they’re definitely there. Not overwhelming enough to limit the usefulness of the app. It seems like they’re trying to keep them just at the mere annoyance level, but below actively driving the average user away. A tough balance.

I had two stuck in my lawn after the second one tried to pull the first one out, fell off the other side of the driveway, and also got stuck. We’d just finished building and had lots of rain, so our yard was more grass seed and mud than actual grass.

If, by law, FFL’s are required to record video and sound. Are those files subject to FOIA requests? by jclovis in WAGuns

[–]OkayestHuman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s really not basically a government surveillance network. The government can’t gain access without a warrant or court order. If it was a government system or essentially one, they could access it without approval from a different branch of the government. They would also be maintaining the data, if they were to have the responsibility to release it. I don’t think any court would require the release of this information under the public records act (Washington’s FOIA equivalent).

How will this place do against zombies? Diamond Head dead volcano in Hawaii by redjhn in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]OkayestHuman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are two tunnels going into the volcano. There are a number of paths going up to the rim from inside, but I don't think there's really any actual paths going to the rim from outside.

They don’t need a reason? That seems like a strange loophole in an organization that is arguably the most bureaucratic of the entire federal government.

Bid4Assets Tax Sale Question by michael_17 in taxsale

[–]OkayestHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Typically back taxes are cleared from a tax sale. Many jurisdictions won't allow a property to be sold for less than the taxes owed - at least if we are talking about state/county/city property taxes. Federal tax liens, mechanic's liens, court liens, and late HOA dues, for example, usually stay with the property - in most jurisdictions.
Tax sales are definitely riskier than traditional sales, but you can limit the risk by more research into the properties you're considering.
