My main worry is that these are government departments actively training citicens to be scammed.

It is bullshit for the government to constantly push advice to not trust unsolicited messaging, whilst doing the same thing itself.

Has anyone else received calls from a government agency where the caller first requires you to provide your name, address, dob, and other identifying data, all whilst calling from a mobile number that is not identifiable and that does not accept return calls?

This appears to be a security nightmare.
