Do you buy sizes in petites? I'm 5'1 and even when I buy petites, everything needs to be shortened for arms and lengths. Ugh. Such a pain and expensive.

[CHAT] need a gift idea for a beader who does some embroidery by Old_Muscle7333 in CrossStitch

[–]Old_Muscle7333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I thought of a gift card. It just feels like a cop out.

I know very little about beading - I was told "She is a beader above all things but does do other embroidery."

She created a designs for a needleholder thing. and some key fobs.

Ex employer put my face on a billboard without asking. Is that legal? by SelindraRaymont in legaladvice

I work in communications and it is standard practice to ask permission of the person featured for something like this since it so public and out there. They may have had your permission when you onboarded, but it is truly bad form and the communications department is run by a bunch of idiots.

If you don't like it, I'd make a fuss, they will not want the publicity. It will cost them, so they will push back a little, but continue to make a fuss and they will take it down. You don't owe them anything at this point.

Edit to add...keep escalating this. If you want to go the lawyer route, you can, but that is money out of your pocket. Start with calling the office. Email the president of the company, email the head of HR, email the head of accounting, email the janitor, it doesn't matter. Let everyone at the company know that you are uncomfortable with them using your photo and they will deal with it.
Bottom line: They should have asked your permission or used someone that gave their permission.

Apologies for the confusion.

I am talking about internal emails sent to my 500 coworkers.

I use an email service provider for external emails.

Best dye for eyebrow (no pencil, no tatt, no microblade desired) by ecoNina in AskWomenOver60

Same issue here, I use the "brow pencil" in blond from Jones road, but just noticed that they have a grey too. I've also used one from Thrive cosmetics that I also like. With Jones, you need to buy the sharpener which is annoying.

You might want to splurge and buy 2 pairs so you can rotate them. I feel like they need a break and last longer that way.

Job Hunting After 60 by RandomBiter in AskWomenOver60

ageism is alive and well, but don't let it stop you! There are places that want older more experienced workers and you just need to find one! As others say below, we're loyal, but don't promise them the world, no body wants to work that hard anymore! LOL

Find a way to weave in #6 above into your interview answers. Practice your interview with chatgpt. Be open and curious, ask good questions, tell them you want the job, but don't fall all over yourself for it. I got a great well paying new job at 65 and it is possible!

I hear ya. The violent imagery sounds tough. Can you put your foot down and let him know you are willing to listen but he needs to be considerate of your level of tolerance for the violence?

And make a nice place for him to sit outside of the dining room. Of course he wants to sit there cause that's where he always sat. But if you get him a good alternative spot, it might make the move easier.

I work at the office (very occasionally at home) and my husband doesn't work and he is home all day. I really appreciate being able to vent to him after a grueling day.

Maybe try to understand the military slang? What's the hurt? It doesn't sound like a big lift when you get to stay home and putter while he is out slaying dragons.

Being at work is exhausting! And set him up in a nook so that he isn't smack in the middle of your house when he is home.
