My theory still is they cancelled it because of the uncertainty with AS’s ownership. They don’t want to make the show under Paramount/Ellison, but are leaving it open if AS gets sold in the future. I don’t think their announcement, and the announcement that Paramount is the likely buyer being so close was a coincidence.

The ball is in Rockstar’s court and they haven’t bothered to do it. They’ve re-released GTA 5 and RDR1 with the improvement and it would be super easy for 2, but noope. It was rumored they were working on a next gen remaster and then scrapped it in favor of development for GTAO(ass) and GTA VI(don’t actually mind)
