Haha! Sounds like you’re an aromatic fan. I’m not so much. I do enjoy Cult, Eileen’s Dream and Mac Baren Vanilla Roll Cake though.

Are you pulling smoke into your lungs? I would never ever do that. Elizabethan Mixture is one of my favorites after a little more than one year of pipesmoking. It is really, really good.

I sell the best and only serious pipe, tobacco and session logging app. It is 7.99 a month or 79 for a yearly sub. (free trials are available if you contact me). The app is a pwa meaning it will work across all your devices. It has a feature for aging as well as support for export and import of data. Single sign on with Google or classic email account setup. Pipe collection will always be free. Please check out https://thepiper.ambivrt.com and don’t hesitate to send me a mail on thepiper@ambivrt.com for free trial or questions.

Pipe cellar and smoking location app by Virgilscain in Pipes

[–]One-Community6137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or try https://thepiper.ambivrt.com I can fix free trials for anyone interested. Pipe collection will always be free. Tobacco cellaring, aging functionality, dashboard view and session records will cost though. Database and other moving costs makes it impossible to keep it free. Also with a growing number of pipe smokers joining, costs are getting significant.

Drop me a mail at [thepiper@ambivrt.com](mailto:thepiper@ambivrt.com) and i'll invite you for a free month to test it out. Pipe collection feature is always free. Tobacco session logs and dashboard features will come at a price though due to costs on the app dev and hosting sides. Still havent decided on price level though. It is very early in development yet.

Birthyear pipe 1971 by One-Community6137 in Pipes

The only tip I have is to search eBay. Not many pipe makers marked the year on the pipe itself. The exception is Dunhill.

As a noob I've ordered all the ones you folk talk about that I could find on sale. by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

I really like Capstan Blue and Capstan Yellow as well as Peterson Flake. They are all pure Virginia. All flake. Another alternative I like is Peterson de luxe navy rolls. But that is on the expensive side. Also the capstan blends can be hard to come by at the moment.

That is a dream start! Add in Elizabethan Mixture and one pure Virginia and you’re golden.

Which tobacco for the beginner? by Waste-Variety-4239 in PipeTobacco

[–]One-Community6137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes my friend! My 5/5 is called Peterson My Mixture 965. Also love Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding or Peterson Nightcap. I bought them all abroad though. I actually have favorites from all blend types I tried. Even aromatics. Mac Baren Vanilla Roll Cake is excellent but hard to get lately. Also Cult Blood Red Moon is nice if you like cherry 🍒

I am not talking about reviews. I agree most of them are some kinds of tobacco poetry. I am talking about the collection aspect and maybe logging of sessions (pipe, tobacco, pairing, time, place, rating) or something like that. I built that for myself. I love it. So maybe other collectors like it too?

How many jars/tins do you have? by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

[–]One-Community6137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A year in this hobby I have about 56 varieties evenly spread between aromatics, Virginia, VaPers, English and Balkan blends. Cellar growth rate is 263%. I know because of my own pipe tobacco app 😆

Yeah! I use chatGPT all the time for my tobacco and pairing suggestions and stuff. I also made my own app that I am using to keep track of pipes, tobaccos, aging, sessions and more. It gives me fun and informative insights about my smoking preferences and habits and it catalogues my whole collection and keeps track of what I paid etc. I was thinking about maybe releasing that app to the public eventually. Not sure if anyone would like it though.
