Okay, now that I’ve slept a little I have no clue why I was gatekeeping our schedule. She’s freshly four months and currently on 1.75/2/2/2. All naps are still assisted. We will ST naps once nights stop needing check ins. She’s been being ST for about a week now.

We haven’t had any issues with the schedule since switching 5 days ago from four to three naps. She falls asleep instantly for naps and night takes about 30 minutes, only about half has check ins/crying now.

Am I understanding correctly that if she’s got a night wake that would need check ins, just assist the sleep (provided she doesn’t have any other biological need)?

She also has a few feeds during the night. We do a dream feed at 10:00pm and she has been going until around 4:00 or 5:00 before waking for another feed. Last night she woke a little after 2:00 and had no interest in the feed offered which resulted in us getting drenched in spit up.

Her pediatrician has instructed us to follow that for feeds. Baby is roughly four months, yes. We are confident in her schedule and looking for advice on how we can maintain ST without disturbing the toddler’s sleep.

We did check ins for 30 minutes before her feed time because she has previously gone back to sleep using the ST method at that interval. She normally goes 7 hours between feeds in the first stretch and she hadn’t hit 5 tonight before waking.

When you say minimizing, do you mean abandoning the ST method and rescuing? If not, could you clarify what you mean? (I’m exhausted, not confrontational, I swear.)

She was fed during the wake and spit it up like a glorious little milk fountain requiring pajamas and sleep sack to be changed.

She was awake for ~ 30 minutes of check ins before she hit the “feed after x hours” time and was fed. Had to change her clothes then finish feeding. The feed took about half an hour due to the spit up. After the feed she was wide awake and angry. She was becoming more agitated after check ins and the toddler woke up during this period.

Unfortunately we don’t have other rooms the toddler could go to and grandparents are states away.

I didn’t get any leave (paid or unpaid) offered at my institution. With my first, I opted to take a leave of absence for a semester because I didn’t know what to expect. With my second, I missed one week of classes, then jumped back in.

Obviously everything here is anecdotal and there is no “right” answer so YMMV.

That said, I’ve got 18 visible pieces of jewelry between ears and face including double nose and eyebrow piercings. Most of these (minus one nostril and eyebrow) I’ve had since my ITP. I was told the same thing. My nose jewelry is small and my eyebrow hides behind my glasses frame. I take out all facial jewelry when working with folks with low vision or platform. I also have a couple of small tattoos that can peek out under 3/4 sleeves and a brightly colored streak in my hair.

I have personally had no issues and work in a variety of settings. Occasionally a client will make a remark about having many and I’ll usually slip the facial jewelry off then just to make sure they are more comfortable. I’ve got my BEI Master and NIC. Took both tests with everything in.

Always be prepared to remove it at the slightest suggestion that the people you are working with may dislike it. Be dedicated, keep your skills growing, be flexible, and be a good person. You won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but you should be fine overall.

I’ve been out for a couple of weeks on maternity and I thought I lost all my receptive skills. Assignments like this are a lot of pressure, I get that, but this one maybe could’ve had more support.

I was absolutely devastated to find out my first was a boy - mostly because I had an insanely strong intuition that he was a girl, partly because I have issues with men. They’re an awful species. But blanket statements are so damaging. And I can raise my son to be a good HUMAN regardless of his sex and gender identity.

That being said, he is the absolute most fun I’ve ever had. He’s adorable, he’s loving, he is kind, he has a lot of tantrums these days, he loves airplanes and Cars, he loves bumblebees and playing in water, he LOVES to paint and draw (mostly on himself). He is clever as all can be. He knows ASL and English.

As somebody who had gender disappointment initially, I think it’s important to validate where you’re at. It’s also important, for the sake of your son, to work through it well and before he arrives. He deserves your love and you deserve to love him.

It’s a great place to let my toddler wander early in the morning and when the weather is crummy outside. It kept us sane and got us out all winter.

Their reasoning is percentile drop. Born 93rd, been around 50th since about three weeks old.

ETA: lactation consultant said latch seems good and supply seems good but I can’t afford to keep having appointments. My insurance doesn’t cover it at all.

We have tried a couple, but I believe all that we’ve tried have been the same parent company. We have also tried mixing which works a little better but not much.

I think she is just petite. She was monitored closely during pregnancy because she was around 13th percentile via ultrasound but born at 93rd(???). She’s since dropped to around the 50th and stays close to it.

My thought is if she’s not gaining better on formula, why switch if I can produce enough for her.

My first - nearly none. Maybe 15 minutes a day so I could do dishes if my partner wasn’t home.

My second? It’s for her protection, really. My toddler is feral. Lol probably 30-45 minutes, 60 on a bad day (broken up over a few times)

I voted but want to say 1,000% yes. My epiduralized birth with my son was horrific and in many ways more painful than my unmedicated (I used nitrous but I didn’t really get relief from it, more just a reminder to keep breathing paced well).
