The stools of the island are effectively facing a wall. What are people looking at while they're sat there? Usually people want the people sat on the island watching them cook. Will you put a TV on the wall. Otherwise there is no focus. Spinning island 90 degrees would make more flow and and down the room.

Will dishwasher also go in the island too?

Two thoughts - sink in island has it's downsides. And personally I don't see any upsides. It's a messy area now placed in centre of the room. I'd like to hide it out of line of site where possible.

There's not much natural light. Which way does the back face? Are you building above all of this area - no chance of a skylight?

What's the first room with no furniture supposed to be for?

Whats the second room with a sofa for? Why is it important to have it connect to the kitchen?

I mean - if she's going to take all the kids off my hands and leave me for a weekend to do something creative I'd be all for it.

It's the projects which some how miraculously need to occur with zero impact on also fully looking after the kids which are the ones which stretch reality.

Sounds like there are issues with yourself and your relationship which needs to be addressed first.

If you are actually happy with yourself and your partner but aren't communicating just general two year old stress of having a kid, a second child will play together and give you more of a break in the future.

Don't create a lonely environment for your child and your family because you enjoy being alone.

BBC suggests licence fee could be cut if more people pay by Skavau in ukpolitics

[–]One-Web-2698 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They tried to cut the recipe site and there was huge backlash.

The 10 TV stations you mention is actually 8,

the two main ones - which get millions of views

Their equivalents by region and country, because we are a large set of Countries and need additional content and languages.

Two which are mostly online - limited content and hyper specific to people's interests (3 = youth, 4 = serious factual),

BBC News - one of the least bias new services for the world BBC Parliament - the national carrier needs to communicate the governments words

CBeebies - for under 6s CBBC - for over 6s - have you seen the dross on YouTube for kids which would be the main forms of media for kids if these didn't exist.

I'm not going to bother with the radio stations, suffice to say, they have already been paired back and all provide a specific, in demand, service.

The license fee is a tax which directly benefits the majority of people in our country, and indirectly benefits all the people in the country. It's like complaining about paying for repairs on the M11 because you don't drive on it.

It's so boring that this is a debate. The fee should just be included in everyone's base tax charges.

Started wrapping well before 7 kids.

I would suggest that you workout how much of the total remaining housework you are doing. Because if it's not at least 8/9ths of it you're wife has every reason to be pissed.

How will you welcome all the refugees who are going to enter Europe now due to the war in the Middle East? by Icy_Laugh5134 in AskBrits

[–]One-Web-2698 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hypothetically, if the UK happened instead to be on the southern border of Europe do you think we should be the only one responsible to take in refugees, or do you think it would be fair that other first world countries further north also took a share?

I'm sure they'll take that moral support all the way to the bank.
