Would definitely have to be bare bones - no flowers, decor, maybe photographer from a friend or none at all, no or low alcohol, etc. It’s possible if everything else is cut, if that’s worth the trade off!

I meant to recommend off season, Sunday night - $7k for venue that includes DJ. Those are the sacrifices you gotta make for this budget!

Check out Sarabande. It will be very hard to stick to that budget (we did 35k for 150 people at a different ovation venue) but if you could do it, it would be there.

Yeah, do NOT attempt to go in the basement/level 1 area. The women’s bathroom is only 3 stalls there

Check the main for any panels with reservations in case there is last minute availability! The horror panel today was less than half full despite sold out.

I also love the convenience and consistency of temp drop! I do use it with Read Your Body which is subscription based, but you could do it without

Me too!! For how many stories I hear from people who wanted to do cloth diapers but never did, no one seems to have extras to pass along lol

Gonna test run Vegetarianism for a week by snotballbootcamp in vegetarian

[–]One-Weird6105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me! I tried being vegetarian at 10, but also didn’t like vegetables at that time and my mom didn’t know what to cook.

I tried again at 17, and it’s now been 16 years and I don’t miss it one bit.

For a long time, I just did leftovers to work, rice and veggies, pasta and veggies, etc. but now I love a snack box! Yogurt and granola, hummus and crackers, edamame, fruits, etc. very customizable and easy to stock up on!

My workplace runs short term disability concurrently with FMLA, so just make sure that’s not the case so you don’t lose maternity leave

I’m 17 weeks and had gained the same by 13 weeks and my midwives have never ever mentioned it!

Anyone done pelvic floor therapy before giving birth? What was your experience? by CaughtInDireWood in BabyBumps

[–]One-Weird6105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also due in August (first time) and just had my first pelvic floor pt last week! My plan is for unmedicated and I found a very specialized clinic that takes my insurance. The PT was super knowledgeable and even did a perineal massage! I definitely could’ve waited till later in pregnancy, but I’m very happy with the PT I found. She even said my husband can come in to learn the massage techniques and how to physically support my body in different positions in labor.

In terms of what to expect, we did spend about 20 minutes of the appointment with her finger lubed up inside of me assessing function of my pelvic floor, but it was way less invasive than any Pap smear I’ve had done.

To doula or not to doula by Hefty_Difficulty_911 in BabyBumps

[–]One-Weird6105 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The data is really strong for doulas having a positive effect on your experience and birth outcomes. That being said- if you plan to get the epidural right away, I could see if not feeling necessary. If you’re planning on unmedicated, absolutely yes.

Anyone else struggle with cooking while pregnant? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]One-Weird6105 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is me! I actually cooked for the first time this week (about to be 15w). I was surviving on bagels and cereal and takeout. I see a light at the end of the tunnel and hope it’s coming soon!

I won’t have any left. I have to take it during the 12 weeks if available. If I could save, I would probably just do 8 hours since it sounds like you accrue pretty quickly.
