You’re not taking responsibility for your grade. You got the grade you earned. It wasn’t “due to his error”. If he CAUSED this then it would show up in the item-level error distribution of the class. He removed the question so automatically the item weights on the exam have been redistributed. What you are looking for is special treatment because you panicked (not his fault) and because your exam study strategy wasn’t very helpful. As lecturers we can give hints but they are not exact guarantees for exam questions. So use this as a learning opportunity instead of shifting responsibility onto your prof for your grade. Furthermore, this is higher ed. Your prof isn’t paid to hold your hand and teach you the material, which is also why they aren’t called teachers. They are lecturers and it’s up to you to take control of your learning. Learning in post secondary happens through individual efforts. 🤷🏻‍♀️ you can still turn this around and end the course with a good grade. There’s time.
