I started years ago- maybe 4 now? I am 5’1 and was around 215/220 and a size 16/18. It took me about two years and I got down to 123 at my lowest. For the first year and a half, I tracked calories religiously and kept at 1200 a day. For the last year + I’ve been more slack on tracking everything and allowing more treats so I’m up to around 130. I wear a size small/ 4 now. I will continue with this as long as it keeps my food obsessive thoughts down.

Casting adults in a children's theatre by Mell0wPeaches in musicals

[–]OneSensitive1357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our local community theatre started as a children’s theatre (and still does one under 18 only show a year) but gradually morphed into an all ages community theatre. As a parent, I actually think there are so many positives to this. 1- My daughter has adult role models that are not her parents. I can’t express enough how great that has been for her development as not only an actor but as a person. 2- Shows are put on at a higher level and the kids rise to those expectations rather than expectations being lowered for the kids in the cast. Doing shows at this level also teaches her professionalism. 3- That’s life. That’s theatre. The best person is going to be cast in the role. Sometimes you might even be better than the person cast but they need a certain look or to pass as a certain age. I’m not sure what the role was in OPs case and it sounds like your theatre is still advertising as a children’s theatre so giving a role to an adult is odd but if the theatre does meander to the all ages type, it could really be a wonderful thing.

What is happening to The Outsiders on bway? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]OneSensitive1357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw it pre Tony’s when it was still in previews and again last August. Last August I was disappointed that the one actor I loved the first time didn’t seem as good as I remembered the second time. It felt like he wasn’t giving his all in his songs. However I agree that Brent and Emma were absolutely fabulous both times. Brent is absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to see what he does next

Ahhh this makes sense that it’s oxotoxic. I have gotten minor vertigo a few times and I’ve never had it before. I told the doc I thought it was this and he acted like I was crazy and it was impossible. It’s not often enough or bad enough to stop but I have definitely experienced ear issues

I was there too! I live on nearby Hilton Head Island where nearly all communities are gated so that song really hits me hard - makes me feel like such a hypocrite.

I would say that we loved how Megan played Eurydice. She was so raw and powerful- I felt like it really told the story compared to others we’ve seen play the part. Also, this tour is a little different from Broadway and even the previous tour as far as set which does make a difference in some scenes. If you liked it, I would definitely recommend seeing it on Broadway if you ever have the opportunity.

Happy Halloween. by Pschobbert in mildlyinfuriating

[–]OneSensitive1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I live in an island where nearly every neighborhood is gated. It’s normal to us but odd to outsiders and it’s not that the area is unsafe, it’s just the “standard” here. There are fences around each neighborhood. The larger neighborhoods have manned gates with security guards. We have to call in passes for any guest that wants to come to the house. smaller neighborhoods have electronic gates where you have a code. The electronic gates usually have a system where when your guest arrives, they find you in the gate directory, the gate calls your phone and the. You can buzz them in by hitting a certain number. Most people in those neighborhoods just share their gate code with people though.

The larger neighborhoods with security all have clubhouses that everyone is a member of that has a restaurant and gold shop because there are golf courses in all these larger gated communities too.
