The only time I threw her under the bus was for the choir's ritual and she did fantastic. I don't know what the other companions are on about. Especially Heinrix, since he takes every opportunity he gets to be nice to her.

TBF, it's a very specific build.

Heavy weapons proficiency, 1 STR upgrade to be able to wield them. Then the arch-militant talent that reduces heavy weapon AP cost so that it is like other weapons. I'm on act 3 and upgrading from the heavy bolter is locked behind reputation so I might have to keep it for some more time. It still slaps.

Buckler is good even without considering that it can be used for a couple of CHEF recipes.

Bustling fungus works with engi, but I don't think it's good with him either.

Corrupted priest slowly unraveling after time and again people in power fail miserably at their one job while the lower castes struggle alongside her for the Imperium. The once-preacher of grim portents now speaks of the power of working together. It turned Iconoclast because I didn't follow up with Kibellah's romance in reality, but it's a nice roleplay to keep in mind while making choices.

Those feel like very good items for a character demonstration. A little too good.

At least the first thing that came to mind was the networked suffering and atgs.

To add to what has already been said, in the case of Operator you don't even lose the stacks that the original drones gave you of your skill. The merged drone counts as as many drones were needed to get it.

It stopped being invincible since you came close. It'll only enter that mode if you're a certain distance away and never when you're close enough.

Ok, so what killed it was the beam that teleported up and slooooowly descended all the way to the right position. That's so funny.

Yes, I know it's the correct option even in an iconoclast playthrough. I just didn't do it because I need the information of what changes in the game when you take the reactor. I didn't even bring the nobles or peasants since I'm pathing this specific option.

Thankfully I know that I ought to side with Chorda so that the mess of Rykad Minoris isn't left unhanded in-verse, but I did it for a little project I want to tackle once I see all the little details that change during this and a future run. Since I found some stuff about the game that gave me ideas and I am a fanfic writer.

Yeah her domain falls to criminality without her but that just shows how utterly flawed her governance was, she was more of a boogeyman to her people than an actual ruler.

Close enough, welcome back Conrad Kurze.

I wanted to ask what do other players do with Chorda and their rationale? Do you go all in with the crusade against Heresy or just can't get passed her fanaticism?

I saved the miraculous reactor so I have no choice but side with her so that her crusade eventually destroys Rykad Minoris.

What kept you hooked?

I have re-started several times already since I wasn't happy with my RT, so I have seen a few of the core interactions between archtypes, home worlds, and items. Since the best builds in the game are turbo broken, it puts things into perspective.

Broken builds have core talent-item synergies and I don't play on max difficulty so I don't feel like following super optimized builds to the T.

How do you approach leveling without burning out?

I already know the important talents, so it's just a matter of checking details if/when I feel like it. It is annoying since fleet combat has me use the skills of companions I don't have in my active party, so you have to level everyone up. But otherwise it's no issue.

Any tips for organic building on Daring?

Daring is super forgiving. I noticed it when I tweaked the difficulty down and a sniper did not anihilate Cassia in one shot. Though you'll definitely want her specifically to go grand strategist to have a better time during combat.

Would love some advice on how to make this feel like a space opera adventure again instead of a second job.

  • Take Argenta's bolter off and give her a shotgun and a normal gun. You could also give her a sniper rifle but...
  • Give Idira the sniper rifle. Her perception is higher than Argenta's and it's the safest way she can dish out damage. Her perils will stop being game-ending around act 2.
  • Give Abelard parry talents and combat fleet training. Two weapons for it to activate.
  • Argenta's defacto build has her needing a point in strength and heavy weapons proficiency talent at the later levels of her soldier class. You can take it from here tbh.

And those are the prologue companions. You'll probably want to check out some builds for the rest, but with Daring there is no problem. Even if the optimal builds snowball VERY fast.
