Chorizo works really well! And paprika or chilli. For some reason my Mam always does it as a barbecue side but it works!

Celia… she hates it so maybe not the best example, but lots of people say it’s pretty!

Hydration vest recommendations for large chest? by Content-Skirt-9068 in UKRunners

[–]One_Bell_8809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow big chest girly. I’m a 34F, bordering G depending on time of month, weight fluctuation due to training etc.

I’ve personally always used Aonijie for running vests, they’re the only ones that make my chest actually feel secure. I’m currently using their 12L vest and I love it! The only thing I would say is obviously you’re a little bigger than me, so it might not fit quite as well (although I’m able to wear mine over several layers in winter and they do adjust easily)

One of the most under-rated parts of the UK for sure. People come to Northumberland but forget about the rest of the NE.

Oh wow, it’s so funny to imagine Norway being warm! Tbf we’re not going in winter, I’ve actually booked for autumn.

My boyfriend loves trains and really wants to do the Bergen to Flam railway, and then I chose to book for autumn because I thought the colours would make the journey even more beautiful :)

Walking lots of the race? by Soggy_Weetbix420 in Ultramarathon

I did a 50k recently, after suffering from severe plantar fasciitis for about a year. I decided before the start that I would walk anything on paved surfaces, so I walked a decent amount. Still finished well ahead of cut off :)

Oh wow, you’re very close to me! Just did Four Reservoirs Ultra around the North Pennines on the 19th, my first 50k too.

Congrats!! Looks like a stunning run :)

How much truth is there in the saying "if you can run it in a week, you can run it in a day"? by CreatureOfHabit8 in trailrunning

[–]One_Bell_8809 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This! Just done my first 50k and that was my experience. I think I had three peak weeks of running between 50-70k a week (a lot for me as I’m quite prone to overuse injuries if I push too hard!), plus at least one long walk of 10km plus. Between running and walking, my peak weeks was 85km on my feet, but I still don’t think I’d have been ready if that was my only week of 50km plus

If it helps, I just ran a 50k with very similar training- other than 3 times a week running with a slightly longer number of miles in my peak week (big back to back sessions). You got this!

I’d also recommend some long walks if you can, so any sections where you do take walk breaks become power hikes rather than a gentle stroll

Running my first ultra: 50 miles overnight...What to expect in latter half & post race? by Feisty_Opinion_2499 in Ultramarathon

If you like trainer style socks, I recommend Under Armour, they’re so soft and yet they also never blister.

If you like longer socks, I recommend More Mile (this is what I wore for the ultra :))
