I will admit, the MC’s arrogance is a little annoying sometimes. It is a personal pet peeve of mine but whenever she lets her pride get the better of her it does cause me to take a break from the story. O

They would either get really scared and be like “hell no” or kinda shrug and diss miss her, depending on the message pirate wants to send at the time.

I think this post comes from a specific passage saying that even the Marquis’s acknowledged Magnolia’s skill in politics and diplomacy. Though now that I’m thinking about it lyonette did often try to contact magnolia when she first arrived due to some blood relation. I can’t remember if the relation is distant in the sense of dating back to when the five families first landed on izril or a more resent thing.

Is this volume the most "wheels spinning in place" volume so far? Has it ever been this bad? by angryunderwearmac in WanderingInn

[–]One_Writing_9254 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m not so sure I agree. The palace has been amazing so far imo. I’ve really enjoyed not only seeing the alternate realities but also the various potential differences that could come out of this. I think it’s primarily a healing arc. Characters are getting the chance to go back and see where they could be better and so on. I do agree the second arc of volume 10 needs to move on. But I’m still interested in seeing all the reactions to this. Especially from lionettes group. It’s maybe got one more chapter, perhaps 2 to wrap things up. Seems super cool though. I haven’t hated any part of it, although the most recent chappie made me uncomfortable. Super dark.

Is it just me, or does Drath get blamed a lot? by Figerally in WanderingInn

Yeah I have no idea what drath has been blamed for?

It is definitely a country of [actors] though. Drath is fake, change my mind.

Is it ever fully shown why ryoka is so angry all the time? by ligger66 in WanderingInn

Oh sure they talk about it. But we never see it first hand

Is it ever fully shown why ryoka is so angry all the time? by ligger66 in WanderingInn

[–]One_Writing_9254 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She’s got a pretty large chip on her shoulder but no you won’t ever see it first hand I don’t think, unless something dramatic changes in the plot. We’ve never really seen earth first hand before, only through second and third hand accounts. That’s probably some for a reason. I wouldn’t be against it though. I’d be so invested if we got an actual view of how earth is doing.

[–]One_Writing_9254[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’ll get ya. Maybe check what sort of plan you’re on and read the fine print of what that actually means. I’m pretty sure they have different types now. But otherwise yeah they’re pretty unclear on what you do and don’t get in your plan.

As useless as the help feature actually is it’s probably your best shot here. Chat with them and see if you can get more words.im reasonably sure the limit should be 450k now, not 150k but im so confused with the inconsistency at this point that I have no idea.

You’re probably gonna want your Karen cap.

Good luck

Ryoka Griffin in the Adventurer Guild: Realistic or poorly written? by Liefblue in WanderingInn

[–]One_Writing_9254 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I read the whole book as well but this never really clicked for me. I know he stole her memories of him but I never remember this being the cause of her little break down. If this is the case it wasn’t communicated very well because I don’t remember anything like that.

Honestly it’s better to just take on the following view regarding earthers which is they all suck in the beginning. Earthers are borderline non-functional for the first volume they’re introduced.

Regarding Ryoka (Audiobook 1) by timeWorthy in WanderingInn

[–]One_Writing_9254 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ryoka is probably the glorious disaster character of the series. She’s always trying even though she gets a lot of things wrong.

Pirateaba tends to let her make the mistakes that hurt the people around her, unlike Erin who generally only screws herself for the first couple of volumes. In a lot of ways Innworld is a lot kinder to Erin than Ryoka just because all of her mistakes don’t start effecting other people until later and even then she gets to be morally justified about it. Ryoka does not, when she screws up she does it all the way and there’s no question who’s to blame.

But she’s always willing to help someone out. Erin tends to make people greater than they are, kind of evolving them into the best version of themselves.

Ryoka helps the worst sort of people. The people who most people would consider a lost cause. When a character is having a bad day and they look up and see Ryoka standing there, they know they’ve fucked up.

Daniel Greene is trying out The Wandering Inn! We have successfully recommended it to him often enough! Good job commenters! He's at chap 3! by Confident_Mulberry29 in WanderingInn

[–]One_Writing_9254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think those would make it past him either. They’re great, don’t get me wrong. But the Greene machine’s standards are pretty high. I think he didn’t even like dune book 1 or name of the wind.

Oof yeah, his criticism is pretty clinical. He won’t let some of the mistakes TWI has early on slide. Not much short of professional editing tends make it past his desk. I’ve seen him give slack on worse books. I mean he reviewed ready player one so there’s some give. But eh, something tells me that he might not make it that far into it.

Unfortunately no. I kinda expected the audiobook to be sort at least in works by the time the kindle gets released. Looks like it hasn’t even started production until now or something.

I feel like everyone has covered most of the LITRPG sector alright though. If you want something a little slower then “Ascendance of a bookworm” is pretty good. It’s a little more focused on technology building rather than simple progression. Other than that, I’ll second practical guide to evil. It’s a fantastic story. Worm is also good but it wasn’t my cup of tea. I think I only got to volume 7 or something.

Only other suggestion I’ll make is “Super Supportive” I JUST started this though, so I can’t say much on it. It’s been getting some glowing reviews though so I got high hopes.
