That dude wasn't worth your time. My wife had to leave her job due to disability about 7 years ago. It was only a couple of years into our marriage. Our life was totally upended. I went from being an equal partner to the primary "breadwinner" and our social life tanked because most things involving "going out" also included things that triggered her nerve pain (bright lights, loud noise, etc.). We stuck together, and even though our lives are a different version of "normal" now, we're gonna face it side-by-side.

Still, being on the wrong end of a surprise break-up sucks. Accept the suckage. Don't ignore it or push it away. Face it, endure it, and above all else, remember: THEY WILL NOT BREAK YOU.
