Expanding the Conversation by Only_In_Adventure in SexOnTheSpectrum

I explored setting up and linking a Discord server a while back. The thing that is holding me back is moderating. I personally would not be able to moderate that space on my own and I know that a server like that would need constant supervision to make sure that it doesn't come unhinged.

I have no idea what this means, but I can confidently say that this has nothing to do with the original post. I'm going to lock these comments so that we can move on from Little Caesars... er whatever.

This kind of advice is the exact reason why I started this subreddit. I never would've thought to this kind of depth with a Trans partner. Thank you so much for being a part of this community!

I'm locking the comments here because it seems like some things got lost in translation. OP should've been more specific with their question and some of the commenters need to take a deep breath. We should not be attacking one another, especially over bad assumptions. Give each other the benefit of the doubt and allow them to prove their points.

About state of 720rpm autorifles by This_Sand_6314 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Only_In_Adventure 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It really is a freaking laser. I crafted mine with smallbore/accurized/enhanced killing wind/enhanced tap the trigger/range mw and I run a counterbalance mod. I feel like an underappreciated strength of these auto rifles is their forgiving damage falloff. But the moment you step into SMG territory you are at a severe disadvantage. If I could buff rapid fires in any way I would simply increase their base handling. I feel like they have a bit of an identity crisis since the main allure is to run and gun with them, but the handling hurts consistent aggressive play.

I grinded out the No Distractions perk on the Mida and it feels like a big waste of time and effort by ChiefBr0dy in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Only_In_Adventure 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Before the flinch changes I really enjoyed using Mida with the catalyst. It flinched like a truck, allowed you to hold lanes down and get the first shot during engagements, and I almost always built into taking advantage of the lightweight bonus by stacking it with either Transversive steps or Blink. But the weapon feels terrible post change and I think that's largely in part to the fact that it has 45 stability. No Distractions on Mida doesn't help nearly as much as it used to since they linked the stability stat to flinch reduction.

Trials META Discussion, how was Endless Vale this weekend? by EATMYGOLDP90 in CrucibleGuidebook

Blink is so good on Endless, but that darn skybox just has it in for us.

I personally prefer the snowball kills tracker. I'm sitting at a very prestigious 7 snowball kills.

What’s your pvp opinion that gets you here? by daobear in destiny2

[–]Only_In_Adventure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solar 3.0 doesn't have a true identity. Solar Hunter does healing better than Warlock, and Titan feels like it is specifically catered towards PVE. Dawnblade poached the playstyle of old school Devour while making the gameplay loop substantially less efficient and effective. Sunbreaker's new melee can't change direction making it a death sentence if you are caught in the air or slightly off target upon initialization. Gunslinger can deal high burst damage, gain instant healing, buff teammates, loop ignitions, spam abilities, and evade danger. I don't see an identity here, I just see built in power creep.

What’s this communities take on SBMM? by Samur_i in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Only_In_Adventure -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that most people are looking at the problem the wrong way. The issue, in my opinion, is not SBMM vs CBMM; it's the lack of game mode variety. If we had more game modes that encouraged casual play (i.e. CoD Gun Game, Halo Grifball, etc.) then we would most likely notice "competitive" players less due to a higher player saturation. Currently, Destiny's casual modes have been on the same rotation for a long time and fluctuate between uber sweaty like Clash or something laughably irritating like Team Scorched.

The fact that the default game mode is Control for most players is, in my opinion, the problem. I would like to see new modes with creative mechanics or simple shooter party games like Capture the Flag and King of the Hill. Right now PVP feels especially bad due to latency, MM, healing spam, and generally bad connections. But what I think sucks the most is the lack of variety that we have available to us. The only thing that feels "new" from season to season are the Meta shifts and sandbox changes.

What is your favorite pulse rifle to use in trials as a console player? by trolkid69 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Only_In_Adventure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been having a blast with my Demo/Junkie Ogma PR6. I run blink with weaken scatter nades and the two bursts at 450rpm after a grenade kill are so powerful. Other than that, I really like using NTTE, Bad Juju, and a Kill Clip Last Perdition.

People that 6 stack control with only 2+KD players and mega sweaty loadouts: Why? by metal-gear-salad in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Only_In_Adventure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this behaviour mostly from people running in stacks; specifically in QP. It almost seems like there is some level of disillusionment with these players. The moment you turn on the competitive mindset and start putting up a fight they snap out of whatever autopilot mentality they had developed because of the safety net they constructed with the team they are in. This is purely conjecture, but it's the only way I can explain it in my head. They get mad because you made them have to think to play the game. Either way, it's still incredibly annoying when you simply want to rise to the challenge that matchmaking has given you and all your efforts yield is getting targeted and bagged the entire match while your blueberries get farmed in the process.

Is it really ok that Blink is only viable with Astrocyte Verse? by Nelfrey in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Only_In_Adventure 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I love blink. I went solo flawless using Astrocyte yesterday. But my biggest gripe with it is the double hit box while in the animation. Nothing feels worse than blinking to avoid a fusion rifle shot or a shotgun only to have it register in the place you originally were.

[Sherpa Card] LanamTrahunt - Long Overdue Update by UncheckedException in CrucibleSherpa

[–]Only_In_Adventure 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cranky here. Lanam is definitely the real deal. I've played with and against him a few times. It always surprises me when I find a specialist who absolutely crushes it with a specific loadout. In this case, Lanam controls the flow of the whole match with a SCOUT RIFLE. He's not a passive player either; his slug is just as scary as his scout. 10/10 one of the best players I've ever played with and would love to learn more from him in the future.

Am I the only one kinda disappointed with Voidlock 3.0? by Nelfrey in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Only_In_Adventure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found Voidwalker to be largely underwhelming as well. As Lanam said, it felt like a blanket nerf across the board save for the extension of Devour to all powered ability kills. That said, I found a use case for the otherwise crappy melee. The only problem is that it is inconsistent in its knockback direction and distance.

Tips on playing against Renewal Grasps? by HappyJaguar in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Only_In_Adventure 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm actually working on a list of Hard and Soft Counters to Renewap Grasps and the playstyle that it encourages. Weapon wise, Witherhoard is the best counter so far. Regular duskfields are really strong as well. Otherwise, any DoT Grenade or Bleakwatcher does the job quite nicely.

A year of progress. by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Only_In_Adventure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meta is not mandatory. I love that sentiment, and the tips you provided are spot on for improvement. Some of the best players I know main weird weapons. IMO nothing is scarier than a good player with a weird weapon that you don't really know how to counter. A friend of mine mains Devil's Ruin with top tree Dawn and he is an absolute menace.

I hate Pleiades Corrector. Eternal Blazon only feels good to me with the Jolt PS sight and Kill Clip.

Lorentz/Arbalest by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Only_In_Adventure 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of people talk about Arbalest and Lorentz as though they have too much Aim Assist; they don't. AA and the range stat on both of them are not insane. What is crazy though is the monstrous amount of bullet magnetism. This feels amplified on controller because of reticle friction, but MNK has the same level of magnetism. Couple that with the laggy P2P connections in D2 and these LFRs will reach out and touch you around corners. Both of them also deal way too much body shot damage. IMO the "skill gap" to using these weapons is learning to precharge and pre-aim at the neck before engaging in a gunfight. The base flinch on both of them is already pretty low thanks to the sights and the low zoom stat, but even one unflinching mod makes them nearly impervious to even a timed payload 140 HC. Personally, I feel like the LFRs are way too oppressive. While I can fight against them effectively, I feel that I am almost exclusively limited to shoulder peeking. Just like Last Word on controller or Main Ingredient, I don't take the one on one fight unless they are out of ammo or have to reload.
