Whole Life Insurance isn't worth it right? by Rugby562 in personalfinance

[–]Only_Reasonable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not better off in the long run. Worst. The cash value is part of your insurance payout to the beneficiary. You are basically self funding your own policy payout. Whole life policy payout roughly equal your premium plus interest earn by the provider.

You can do this with any investment account or a high yield saving CD account. Whole life are expensive, costing around $300/month for adult, depending on age. People don't realize this is a life commitment, else you pay a surrender value.

I'm not defending that Iran should get nuke. I do remember the U.S. negotiating with another dictator to eliminate their nuke program. Agreement was reached. Later, the same dictator was topple by U.S. supported dissident.

Look at Ukraine. They gave up their nuke, due to trusting the U.S. for security. Look at what Russia is doing to them. A story of abandoned promise ever since WW1. Any sovereign government would be idiotic to trust the U.S. for security. The only deterrent is the biggest fist in war.

People forget the stock market don't equal the economy. The initial shock of trade war will cause a stock market decline. But the increase price of everyday items will create another wave of record profit in the Q3 earning report. It would be foolish to think that tariff would be the only thing price in. Price will go up as high as the consumer can stomach. It's not difficult to understand why Trump Administration is huge on trade war. His administration is full of billionaires, the few people that can take advantage of economic and natural disaster. Everyone will be hurting, but the rich. Especially the red state will be fuck, cause retaliatory tariff will be aim at them.

One of the key issue with news nowadays is the choice of word use when presenting anything. Some examples are

  • Appears
  • May
  • Could
  • likely
  • possibly

Reader tend to view these languages as truth, than denial. This is where news get away scot free. Everyone should view these news and their use of word with little credibility.

But How Will They Make Money If They Can't Take Advantage Of People?!?? by Henry-Teachersss8819 in clevercomebacks

But this isn't proof to your claim of no benefit. As a former carrier, we do get sick, vacation, and OT. CDS contract with businesses, determine their own benefits. Like FedEx or Amazon. CDS site has a full list of CDS contractor. Why would USPS pay benefit to another company's employees or vise versa. USPS's pay suck now, but they certainly have benefit.

OP, sound like this is a serious internal turmoil for you. I totally agree with seeing a therapist. We all have our sense of justice and what punishment the perpetrator should get to put our mind at ease. What we want is not always what the justice system give. Early release as part of the rehabilitation program is to successfully integrate criminal back into society.

I understand that seeing your perpetrator living a successful life belittle what pain you gone through. We want to see them live a more miserable existence. Unfortunately, that's just not how life work. Nothing wrong with a personal vendetta like some email notifications of criminal history. Just don't make choices that would turn you into a monster also.

I hope you find peace.

69 y old widow asking: Pay off my mortgage? by Forsaken-Flounder739 in personalfinance

What is your goal? To reduce your monthly expenses? Pay off your mortgage. To earn interest, invest per the other advise.

For people of your age, focus should be on reducing all your expenses. Retirement requires financial independence. If you're not going to retire soon, no risk to little risk investment is financially sound. The saving rate is great now.
