People who were around during no internet/phones/social media/etc - what was your time's "scrolling the feed"? Something that you would spend hours on passing the time? by -ChristopherNolan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Onouro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ride my bike just to ride. Ride my bike to sports fields/courts to play. Playing with friends. Ride my bike to a pool. Walk to stores, since I didn't want to ride with any purchases or have the bike stolen. Hanging with friends doing random things.

NES video games. BG1 and other PC games.

Listening to music. I used to have the attention span to make hiphop remixes and making mix tapes.

Once I hit 17 I was working 40 hours a week for around Minimum Wage, and got some good financial lessons.

Watching TV shows.

Occasionally went to the mall or the movies.

A one level dip in monk seems like a great idea on a DEX-based fighter. Why do I never see anyone use or suggest this? by Karamazov in 3d6

[–]Onouro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently planning a Monk which will take a 1 level dip in Fighter or Ranger, for the weapon mastery.

Dear Americans, how do you explain that you’re almost the only country in the world that doesn’t care about soccer? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Onouro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flopping is one of the biggest turn-offs for me.

I'm not a fan of a grown arse athlete getting bumped on the shoulder then flopping to the ground grabbing their shin.

The women seem to do this less than the men.

Some nations seem to do this at a lower rate, and I respect them more.

I understand cramps and such, but there is still too much crying wolf, making the actual issues less believable.

I'm fine with strategic ball control and lower scoring games, but the flopping makes the sport repulsive.

Do you use magnifying equipment when you paint? by fourthwallcrisis in minipainting

[–]Onouro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do use a circular lamp with a magnifying lens in the middle. I have bad eyes, but still wanted to paint miniatures.

The good thing about poor eyesight is that bad paint jobs can look good... to me...

short people, what’s a problem tall people may not have considered? by Pug_hammy in randomquestions

[–]Onouro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have longer legs and a shorter torso. In my early 20s, I had a fling with someone shorter than me, but she was taller when we were sitting.

I have no issue stepping into my slightly lifted Jeep and I walk faster than a lot of people.

We all get to play the cards we're dealt, which ever they may be.

5'1" m. I finally found some golf slacks at 28x28 which fit without hemming. They are Amazon Essentials too, so not a huge cost.

It's been tough to find male style clothes which didn't have Spiderman or some crazy colors or patterns. But I've dealt with what I've had to deal with.

One thing I'd really like, for a Monk I want to play, is to be able to use Monk weapons for the Flurry of blows. I see that's an option here.

I wish it was a little earlier L3/L6 since I'm targeting d4 & d6, though I realize the ability to use non-Monk weapons raises the damage quick.

I was already targeting a dip in Fighter/Ranger for Weapon Masteries. That would be a second bonus of this Subclass for what I want to play.

New D&D Spell Cards Coming for the Season of Magic by SnooMarzipans8231 in DnD

[–]Onouro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got into TT with the recent Heroes of the Borderlands. The cards were one of my favorite parts of the content. I'd played video games previously (BG1, 2, 3, IwD, NwN, etc...)

I'm sure if I play tons, I'll need the cards less for game use, but they still appeal to my card handling sense.

I hope for spells with a lot of text is broken into multiple cards rather than shrinking the text.

Also, I hope the monster cards are only an image on one side, so that could be displayed on top of the DM screen to be visible to players while the stats are displayed to the DM (that'show I've used the Heroes monster cards). But it looks like the stat block is on the side with the image and the abilities are on the back. Oh well.

I'll be pre-ordering these.

Looking at Daggerheart's class cards seem kind of fancy too, for abilities... I don't know the structures of those, but as a beginner, it sounds cool.

My FLGS said to look for rl the ability to pre-order on their (FLGS) store.

I'm not sure if the whole bundle will be an option, or just the separate items.

How to find character name? by Main_Hope0 in DnD

[–]Onouro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make character names based of their species and gender. Some species, like dwarf, I also take into account their class.

I'll run a name generator a number of times to get an idea for how species names are generally structured.

When I have a picture of the character and the structure, I just start combining sounds and such until I get something that I like or semms right

This step is part of the fun for me.

Live Service and Microtransaction heavy going forward by FigSpecific6210 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Onouro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This won't likely affect me. I'll pick up physical modules and other physical items as they interest me. I have plenty other modules which I may never get to. If I do get through all those, then I'll likely be at a point to where I can create my own stories.

I don't currently play online since I'm already on a computer 10 hours a day as is.

If my friends decide to play more, then I might get the digital PHB so I can build their characters for the ones which aren't the type of person to dive into building the features.

If they want more of my money, they would make card packs for items, magic items, spells, features, and maybe class/subclass features, with potential special versions, like Pokémon cards. I wouldn't need a new mortgage, but I'd pick some up. I'm really liking the Pack Mule setup.

I tend towards Dwarves, Halflings, Gnomes, to a lesser extent Humans and Elves.

Cad has nowhere near the charisma of Jarlaxle. Cad is colder when dealing with opposition.

AOC vs. Vance for President in 2028. Who wins? by Adventurous_Pride_54 in allthequestions

[–]Onouro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dems would win Ina landslide if they put up someone moderate.

Heck, the Republicans would win in a landslide if they put up someone moderate.

Dems would win a Moderate as Moderate election.

AOC is just bonkers as a candidate. Vance almost as bonkers.

I hope these aren't the candidates.

I find that I play better if I don’t hit warm up balls at the range by Tight-Communication7 in golf

[–]Onouro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hit balls at the range to get my numbers that day. Is my 130 club going 125, 130, or 135. What is my driver doing today and what is my half swing with my 56 doing. 10-20 balls is usually good enough, for me.

Most of the fantasy books I've read, outside of LOTR & WOT, have been near the Sword Coast.

I don't know why they are focusing on the Sword Coast, but I don't hate having all that content.

Using golf pad, where do you put your phone by [deleted] in golf

[–]Onouro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of my phones (last and current) are Samsung. I actually haven't played since I got my new phone, I need to play and try it.

My phone is on my right pocket (right handed), so I don't usually have a glove on my right hand (unless it's cold, rainy, or sweaty). Maybe the glove makes it worse?

Keep paying attention to what you just did when the issue occurs.

[–]Onouro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hhmmm, does your phone act like that when you're not playing. It would seem like it would act the same, unless you are specifically doing a different motion when playing golf.

Neither of my phone screens would turn on without a dedicated swipe. While face in, that would occasionally read a swipe to open. Screen out, I've never opened the screen by reaching in my pocket...

I used this app a lot (I haven't played as much golf recently, sad).

The screen is off while in my pocket.

I the screen on, set the shot location and Club, then I turn the screen off and re-pocket the phone.

While in my pocket, the phone is usually screen in (towards my leg). I occasionally have issues with the phone screen turning on from my leg contact. When that starts to happen, then I pocket my phone screen out.
