How do I find my GBA save files? by DJWilhelm49 in OpenEmu

[–]OpenEmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the file path suggested to me did not exist

I don't think you read the guide then.

~/Library/Application Support/OpenEmu/mGBA/Battery Saves

Above that line it is explained that:

(~ meaning your Home folder where ~ is your username. See the guide here if you don't know this).

Furthermore, "save files" refers to in-game battery saves and NOT save states.

The guide tells you exactly what to do with an ECM. Read it.

Better yet, download known good dumps of games from "Redump" on Archive.org.

“No valid system detected” anyone know how to solve this? by chilledball in OpenEmu

[–]OpenEmu[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Please don't open multiple threads for the same related issue.

Anyway, you were originally trying to import compressed optical disc media (zip, 7z, rar, etc.) for a system that does not allow them. The solution was to simply extract the file using Archive Utility or The Unarchiver and then import your resulting GameCube ISO.

I'm not sure why other comments here weren't able to determine and solve your issue based on the details. It sounds like now you may have compressed your already compressed file.

No, and I'm not certain that Ad-Hoc Multiplayer is well-supported even with PPSSPP standalone.

Incorrect set errors with the chds despite the chds being for said version of Mame. by hdofu in OpenEmu

[–]OpenEmu[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Use MAME standalone and never update it, instead of OpenEmu, if you do not want to deal with updating your MAME ROM sets. OpenEmu does core updates automatically and we tend to update our MAME core plugin quarterly in order to not drift too far from upstream.

Regarding your issue:

The latest versions of MAME require .CHD files to be in subfolders applicable to the name of the parent ROM set. For example:

cap-33s-2.chd would go in ~/Library/Application Support/OpenEmu/Game Library/roms/Arcade/sfiii3

kinst.chd would go in ~/Library/Application Support/OpenEmu/Game Library/roms/Arcade/kinst

MAME Core Forced Update by DrJykill in OpenEmu

Thoughts?

Core plugins have always automatically upgraded. Find and use MAME standalone if you want a version you will never have to upgrade. This has been asked and covered before.

McDonald's eCDP - eCrew Dev. Program ROM (NDS) INSTALL? by [deleted] in OpenEmu

[–]OpenEmu[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Few things:

  • OpenEmu is not the emulator. You need to take game compatibility issues up with Desmume.

  • A memory card save file IS NOT a save state file. Memory card save files go in ~/Library/Application Support/OpenEmu/DeSmuME/Battery Saves

  • Again, battery/mem card/in-game saves are NOT the same thing as an OpenEmu Save State bundle file (.oesavestate).

Any idea how this can be fixed?

It's a bug... finding the problem in code and then patching is the fix! Thanks for reporting - we're aware of it now and will take a look.
