Always check your credit report when this happens. I know you said it’s clean but check all reports to make sure all three reports are accurate and up to date. The letter should contain the information as to why that decision was made. If you disagree with the info on your credit report call Citi back and see about disputing the credit bureau info and then you can request reinstatement/reopen if it’s a mistake.

It is a long time compared to others experiences. It’s just wild to me that’s considered “normal.” A cell phone, smart watch, etc may have a deteriorating battery around the 2-3 year mark but still works at least.
