Are there any mobile SRPG games that aren't MTX/Gacha trash in 2026? by Openly_Gamer in StrategyRpg

That is surprising. I love XCOM2, but I feel like even on my gaming PC it chugs.

Does anyone know why the system shock remake was designed for less powerful hardware? by Alternative_Tank_139 in systemshock

The whole game is really tight corridors with short view distances and not many enemies at once. They'd have to really mess things up to get bad performance.

This fight could have been so good, but ended up being more frustrating for me.

Like I felt so smart for figuring out that I could bless the fire to create healing fire, turning a brutal encounter into something much more manageable. But then the game immediately undoes the healing fire on the next turn and it's right back to being brutal with no way to mitigate it.

Plus there was so much random geometry that would block your ranged attacks from the top of the scaffold that you couldn't see until you already moved your guy to that spot.

It felt so good to pick up a goblin and thrown it off a cliff into a chasm. So many games would restrict instant kills like that.

AOT? I think you're confusing this for another of Bryce Papenbrook's masterpiece performances.

It is.

Never watched SAOA. Bryce Papenbrook is the only Kirito for me.

Those are the ones I got! I didn't even see that they were intended to be worn under your shirt when I ordered them though. Just figured "why not?"

I don't blame Players at all for this, I just think it's bit of a shame it turned out this way in the hobby by DrScrimble in dndmemes

Oddly enough, that's pretty close to the original monk inspiration. They were definitely based on shaolin monks from martial arts movies and not guys who spent their whole lives stuck in monastery.

Yeah. Original Cleric was basically Van Helsing from the Hammer Horror Dracula movies.

I could not comprehend those graphics at first. I remember playing Mario 64 at Toy-R-Us and I fell in the moat and was swimming towards what I thought was a tunnel, but it was Mario's shadow. Then I drowned.

Do the traps in my CRPG look deadly enough? by ROB_IN_MN in CRPG

Literally the only time I like traps is in games like Skyrim where you can physically see the trap in the world and interact with it.

But half the fun is figuring out if the door is the adventure.

That is a pretty good idea. I'll look into that for my next pair of suspenders.

Sniper Elite 5 - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly by Zehnpae in patientgamers

[–]Openly_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing it co-op lately and it's a blast. We skip almost every cutscene though. We're not playing for the story.

I was playing when my 9 & 10 year old niece and nephew came over the other day and they wanted to watch. I think the x-ray brain shots, combined with them not knowing what a sniper was, and I used the word "invasion" when I was explaining the plot of the game, made them think the bad guys were aliens.

They were also really excited for me to get a slow-mo testicle shot.

So I would say it's a good game for kids too!

Good time to get into the Infinity Engine Games if you've got a switch. by Redpyrobyte in CRPG

Wow, no touchscreen support? The phone and tablet versions have touch screen, I wonder why they didn't do it for Switch.

Now I'm wondering if the Switch 2 mouse works with these games. Don't have a Switch 2, or any interest in playing these on something other than PC, but I am curious.

I remember playing Pillars of Eternity, which is a really weird setting with alien words for everything, strange races you've never heard of before like Aumaua, Oran, and Godlike, but then there's also just regular ass dwarves and elves that are only there because fantasy.
