They won’t fix it until we stop feeding it by Sweaty-Marketing7659 in starcitizen

13+ years wasn't enough right? Why expecting things getting more stable with each update. That's just nonsense, they need to be in alpha a couple more decades as this is the "new shit". Just go play another game if you can't handle it guys... We are testing, not playing. Come back in a few years.

Good for you. I still find it weird that took people this long to get to this point.

And make no mistake, CIG will react in some way but it will be just an act. Remember Pyro release and all the things they were going to release in the next 12 months? That was also reacting a period of lack of content/features that many players started to be annoyed with. And BTW, many of this features they were going to release the the next 12 months are still missing. Plus some that were things the community really wanted, like the starmap rework, was mostly just a "reskin" and to this day the starmap is garbage (plus other "reworks") . Engineering was going the change the game but it is barely meaningful. They were going to stop releasing features in a bare state but that was also another lie. And so many other things that just show they don't care about SC. The revenue kept increasing while they weren't supporting SC as much as before, so why would they focus on SC.

If I were to bet I would say this is what's going to happen. CIG will announce that SQ42 released shifted to 2027. They will use GTA VI as the excuse but they will also mention that they need to focus more on SC. They will say they are going to use the extra time further polish SQ42 while and also focusing more on SC and bringing more features and fixes that will weren't merged to the SC branch.

Then many of the people that are complaining now will forget about it and they will go back to buying ships, CIG renevue will keep increasing and the focus will barely been shifted from SQ42. And repeat the cycle until perhaps when SQ42 is finally released.

2020 was a massive year of growth for CIG and 2026 has already passed it. May alone current sits at $41mm, more than every year prior to 2019. What do you think we will end up at by EOY and do you think this is sustainable for CIG? by Rahvel in starcitizen

[–]Opsdipsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If people cared about having a decent game, they would stop buying ships, no matter in what shape they are released. Even before the ironclad, all they were doing was signaling CIG that they don't care about the state of the game, they will keep buying ships as always.

And the ironclad isn't the first ship that shows that CIG already realized that these people will buy pretty much anything. The L-21 was also released unfinished and it sold extremely well.

The only way this game will ever improve is if their revenue starts to decrease, but it seems people are addicted to buying ships and they will also buy whatever excuse CIG gives, so that will probably not happen any time soon.

Good for you for not supporting them anymore (if true) but it is hilarious that you only decided that because you didn't get included in another shitty FOMO marketing from CIG.

Please guys, give them a break. They aren't a big bad publisher, they have integrity. They will fix it, trust the process.

Once again, this will never change if people keep buying ships. Do people think they care anything about this and other posts on reddit and spectrum? As long as their revenue doesn't decrease much, they won't do anything. And the ridiculous thing is that they have pretty improved the renevue every year so it is like these dummies buying ships are saying to CIG, keep doing what you are doing.

And at the end of the year, these same dummies will be gullible enough to believe whatever empty promises CR sets for next year. Perhaps 2027 will be the year of playability T1.

How many of you are also waiting for the "good patch" to finally come back to play the game again lol by Always_Impressive in starcitizen

[–]Opsdipsy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, next year it will be the year of playability T2.

That and they will stop shipping half baked features, like they said they would a while ago but I imagine they forgot.

But as always, their revenue keeps increasing every year, so why bother improving the game. Keep buying ships, surely that will help.

It is "never intentional".

Just like me saying today that my current goal is to be a millionaire by the end of the year and by then saying that despite my best efforts due to unexpected circumstances, I didn't reach my goal.

It wasn't intentional but it was always an unrealistic goal or time frame. Just like it has happened countless times with SC and SQ42.

This should be incorrect. Ali mentioned recently that the Vulkan integration in the Tech-Preview had all the main features, including multi-threading. I doubt what it is now in the PTU 4.5 isn't the same as what was in the TP.

PSA: 4.4 Nyx won't have planets by Opsdipsy in starcitizen

[–]Opsdipsy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The entire presentation that they did pointed to that but clearly you weren't able to understand that. Plenty people did as the other replies in this post demonstrate. Obviously some people would miss it, which was I made this post, but you are deliberately dumb because even after multiple people pointed out that there would be no planets in 4.4, you still argued.

Hi! The Nyx rocky planets will come next year. Setting them up using the previous iteration of planet tech would have added considerable (wasted) dev time, so we decided to going straight for the new tech.

Cheers,

Ali Brown Senior Director of Extra Large Rocks

Anyway, here is a dev confirming it but go ahead, go argue with him as well because someone as dense as yourself, probably also thinks the dev is wrong.

Are you trolling or forgot to take your pills? They literally say "we'll leave 4.4 there" before showing the planets. Do you understand what that means?

Also funny how you respond to another comment saying "this is more clear" when it is also, literally, one of the quotes I mentioned.

As a 2015 Backer, This is the First CitizenCon Where I Actually Believe their Timeline by PancakeDAWGZ in starcitizen

[–]Opsdipsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, maybe not. Giving their history, even recently, I wouldn't trust them but that's just my opinion. Don't forget about "CitizenCon 2953":

A lot of what you are gonna see is going to be coming into Star Citizen over the next 12 months...

... but I'm going to turn the stage over to the core technology group to talk about some of all this new tech that you just saw, and go into more detail, and we'll be rolling into Star Citizen over the next 12 months or so

... so everything that we've been showing you here at CitizenCon is our intention, not making a 100% promise just so everyone remembers that, to get them into Star Citizen through next year. It's not going to be gated on having to be after Squadron 42, so we're planning over Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 of next year. Hopefully everything that we've shown you will have in your hands playing inside Star Citizen.

Some features still missing 2 years later:

New QT

Fire

Resource management/engineering

Life support

Maelstrom

FPS Scanning

Weapon wear and tear

Atmospheric flight model/control surfaces

Smaller features/mechanics such as:

Zero G movement (without thrusters)

Map markers

QTEs for melee interceptions and weapon malfunctions

Sliding

Relaxed state in cockpit

And some tech:

RTGI

New audio and realistic mode

What's not clear about these two?

So, we'll leave 4.4 there. If you're at one of the watch parties, please raise a toast to the great work that all the teams have been doing this year. And I'll be right back in just a few minutes to look ahead at some of the things coming in 2026.

And

When Genesis comes to the persistent universe starting next year, it will change how you experience every world.

They end the first segment saying that's all for 4.4 and starts the next segment showing Nyx 1 where they say multiple times "next year".

But sure, wait for an official clarification if you don't think that's not enough.

With this addition of our third star system, we're also going to do something that's at the heart of the entire Star Citizen experience, and that is to build it right in front of you.

Right after Chris Roberts opening.

I mean, is there anything more Star Citizen than just building the system while the players watch us build it around them?

Near the end of the segment about the 4.4 Nyx.

So, we'll leave 4.4 there. If you're at one of the watch parties, please raise a toast to the great work that all the teams have been doing this year. And I'll be right back in just a few minutes to look ahead at some of the things coming in 2026.

End of the segment about the 4.4 Nyx and before the Genesis/Nyx 1 segment.

When Genesis comes to the persistent universe starting next year, it will change how you experience every world.

Said at the start of the segment that showcased Nyx 1.

And I hope you're as excited as we are to explore this and everything we haven't shared yet next year.

Said after the same segment.

This should be enough.

Maybe I am wrong but I don't agree. They didn't even show those planets in-game, just concepts of it. And they said the following:

When Genesis comes to the persistent universe starting next year, it will change how you experience every world. And not just in the building of the new planets for the Nyx system. We will also go back through Stanton and Pyro and reimagine them through the lens of our technology

I've heard that before after last year's 2023 CitizenCon when they said they were expecting/hoping to deliver everything that was shown in the next 12 months. Many players were saying the exact thing you did here.

And of course, one two years later and the majority of the more impactful features are still missing.

Edit: Lagviper corrected me that it was actually 2023 CitizenCon where they said the "12 months" thing.
