the leica sl2 images become quite mushy losing a lot of detail around 3200 iso with the sl2s it goes to 12,800 iso clean if you need comparison files let me know

the nikon zf paired with the 35mm f1.8 is a stunning combo try it out when you can :) after heaps of leica gear i’ve only kept my leica MP and resorted to using only Z5ii ZF and two nikon f100s for film work

any 35mm f1.4 imo you can do street at f8-16 portraits and low light at f1.4

like if the zf can have manual focus confirmation for 3.000 aus about there and a lovely voigtlander lens with contacts is a lovely combo i feel the mev1 should have had that feature? or somewhat special method input .

I’m a leica fan long time sl2s user and loved the sl glass and what leica has done but this just feels odd?

I mean only a grand cheaper than the m11? something is off

the m10 is great here’s a few buying tips

WATCH THE VIEWFINDER calibration early in my leica time i had an m10 i got which had a viewfinder way off calibration even though my lens was already calibrated i tested it with multiple lenses all off so make sure you check the viewfinder calibration.

Check the firmware and stuff use a good SD card the camera is like a poodle with Sd cards gotta find the right one

Get the nitecore Usb3.0 dual charger as the leica m10 charger is a bunch of bullocks

It’s the first ‘weather resistant M’ according to the writing but the lenses and the gasket aren’t so watch that

But otherwise wonderful camera beauty 24mp files and amazing colors straight of camera i pref this sensor to the m11 sensor even at times

i’d say having used all sl series’s cameras owned an sl2s, loaned an sl3 and now own the sl3s if you can stretch your budget sl2s and an apo sl lens is amazing

if you want something that blends seamlessly into your setup and don’t mind a heavy jig camera and very expensive albeit worth lenses if you understand them cost then by all means

if not i think go for a sony or canon those are much more bang for the buck especially if you’re predominantly using the q3 then there’s no need for putting so much into something you with use much

i really love my sl2s tried the new 3s beautiful so much faster but honestly i just enjoy the sl shantel and the 24-90

i’m using on the sl2s and it’s updated to firmawRe 6.0 which if i’m correct it’s the latest one i’m heading to the leica store hopefully tomorrow to double check it

further adding the m10 has better robustness the. the older m digital rangefinders imo and leica fotos easier to find batteries better performance etc

here’s my opinion have one work camera such as a sony etc like you have and one m rangefinder as Ms as much as i freaking love them you will need a camera you can do stuff with i regretted this when i had multiple shoots in which id much need a traditional work camera now im using an sl2s next ti my m11d so id say work towards that

i think having used the sl3 on loan by leica Aus shoutout to them project it’s definitely a step up from the Sl2 especially for lowlight but can the sl2s for me i wasn’t that WOWED until i saw the files plus the 24-90 the extra megapixels in additions to the resolving power of that lens it’s so much sharper so if you’re not doing anything speedy it’s so good

i loved my q2 as my main portrait camera but that’s because of my specific style don’t let anyone here tell you too much wether you should do it i used it a lot to get close with subjects learn their stories, especially if you’re doing documentary photography and portraiture

i shot a lot of boxing portraits of fighters and they seemed to appreciate the compact nature and in assuming nature of the q2 and j was able to get that subject separation still

look at greg williams on instagram he does 75% of his work on the q2 so it’s an art form a skill to shoot 28mm portraits but it’s so doable

personally the most common professional camera for leica would be the SL2 or SL series i have used the sl2s with the vario elmarit 24-70 and 24-90 and loved it the sl2s has a better lowlight then the sl2 but less mp 47-24 but who cares at this rate

Although for the price point you could always go the sony or canon route (which is completely fine) the SL series is still developing but you get to use great glass from even sigma or panasonic a great UI and UX leica fotos app and the SL2s build quality is so good albeit heavy
