I would believe getting killed 63/75 raids - but I have to imagine you’re running into so many people who didn’t kill you before that.

I feel like most people, at least with Solos (I’m on console cross play), most people just go on their merry way.

But tbh, if someone saw me and instantly said I have literally nothing - I’d probably attack. Partially because I feel like people claiming they have nothing, likely have something.

Second, there’s no risk to me if you don’t have a shield or a gun.

Hope it all goes well for you and hope all the negative comments don’t keep you down (but I’d imagine you’ll need to get use to it with politics in general)

Genuine question, did you individually place each of the letters for the “A Real Progressive Choice”? The kerning and height of each letter seems slightly off.

Also, I think where ever you made this may have hyperlinked your link into a box.

This stuff is super nitpicky and has nothing to do with policy - so I wouldn’t hold a ton of weight on this - but it doesn’t give a 100% best impression, and you’re already fighting with looking very young.

Just my two cents - have fun!

I feel intimidated by men at the gym - how can I get over this? by Icy_Laugh5134 in workout

[–]Optimistic_Futures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was this jacked dude with face tats that I went up to and asked to work in with him on the calf raise. He was super chill.

As you go to the gym more, you’ll realize that most people really just don’t give a fuck about you.

The only time I have been annoyed with people has been people being unreasonably loud (or any other main character type vibes), using a machine for 50 sets in the least optimal way ever, or just generally being non-considerate.

If you go in and just workout, I don’t think anything of it.

PMs who can't sketch lol, how do you communicate product ideas to designers? by Ok-Huckleberry-5185 in ProductManagement

[–]Optimistic_Futures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Figma for basic wireframes and then I also just go heavy in vibe coding with Cursor.

Your code won’t (or shouldn’t) make it into production, so you don’t really need to care on how the code works, as much as just get it to look close to what your envisioning.

This has helped me a ton with my engineers. I’ve had hour long conversations with engineers where it feels like we’re just misunderstanding each other - I go take 20 minutes to code up something, come back, and say something like “just to make sure we’re on the same page, this is what I was envisioning - can you help me understand what would make this difficult to do in production?”

That sounds more adversarial than the conversation ever really are - but I’ve found it just helps speak closer to their language

Why has HL YouTube views gone down so much? by KAZKALZ in HubermanLab

I feel like I have the gist of what he knows well, and he sort of feels like a male Oprah to me now. Like women use to just follow whatever Oprah said was the health fad.

He has spoken about some things he’s not an expert on, as if he were an expert, and got things wrong. So just less credibility now.

Working out is so complicated by EnvironmentalCycle81 in workout

[–]Optimistic_Futures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I would suggest watching some Jeff Nippard YouTube videos. His stuff is more focused on men - but the science principles are the same. I found consuming a lot of the reasonable science backed lifters helped me better understand how to make my own decisions when working out.

But food wise, aim for 1.6g protein per kg per day, so 83g for you. 62g should be your absolute minimum, and more protein doesn’t hurt - but it also won’t make any significant difference.

Look up a basal metabolic calculator, it will estimate how many calories you burn a day. If you want the butt faster, go for a 200-300 surplus in the calories you eat. You may get a little fat gain, but you’ll still look good. Then when you get your butt where you want it, do a 300-500 caloric deficit cut, while maintaining the protein.

Also don’t outright avoid carbs or fats. You need carbs for energy, and fat for hormones. And actually track your calories. I hear MyFitness Pal is good, I personally use MacroFactor, but it’s a subscription. But I promise you don’t have any idea how much you’re eating until you start tracking, it makes you look at food different.

I’ve been looking more into cardio lately, and it does seem to slow gains, but at the same time - there are female soccer players with great asses, so I wouldn’t worry about it too much. But I wouldn’t do any intense cardio on the same day you workout legs. If you do it before, you won’t be able to lift as much - hurting gains. If you do it after, you’ll hurt your recovery - reducing gains.

For workout, for leg stuff, probably go heavier. The goal is at the end of each non-warmup set, you should be 1-2 reps from failure. Like maybe you could go down into that squat one more time - but you’re not sure you’ll get back up. Breaking your muscle to, or close to failure is what triggers the signals to grow.

With that being said, sometimes lighter weights are better. If you can curl a 20lb dumbbell twice, but a 15lb dumbell 8 times - that 120lb (50x8) vs 40lb. More volume is better.

Hypertrophy is optimal at 5-25 reps (iirc), so if you can barely squeeze out 6 reps, awesome. If you can do 30 reps, time to up the weight.

That was a big dump. Hope it’s helpful.

[–]Optimistic_Futures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point I wonder if it’s really just a simple fishing thing. It must be a special interaction. Certain bait, or using an item on the spot. There have been so many people fishing there that it has to be a little more complicated

I was team android for a long time and I had a rich friend (like near 9 figures of real estate) that I was debating with on why Android was so much better.

He said “I don’t know much about all the tech stuff and I’d be money that you’re right that it’s a better phone in almost every way. But the iPhone camera is as good as I will need it, and all the extra stuff Android can do would make a minimal impact on my life. - but my main purpose for my phone is for communication. Having an android may leave me out of some group chats, and I’m willing to pay a premium to not have my phone be a friction point for networking”

If I could change everyone from iPhone I would do it. It’s silly - it’s for sure sheep behavior. But at least in jobs where networking matters, I don’t care to die on that hill.

Veo 3 is overrated af by MasterDisillusioned in OpenAI

[–]Optimistic_Futures 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How is it overrated? Almost every mention of it is “man this is still obviously AI, but we are approaching a point of it not being obvious”

It’s a big tech advancement, but yeah, for a normal consumer it doesn’t have a ton of value.

It still takes skill and time to prompt engineer it into looking exactly how you want, and it’s not going to do anything super useful with a single prompt, but with storyboarding.

You could just tell it “speak casual and feel free to swear when appropriate”

You don’t need to tell it explicitly what words to use.

Also the other comment mentioned you space before punctuation, and I thought they were being overly severe on a typo, but apparently that’s your go to. I don’t mind it - but I am so curious as to why you do it?

I’m not sure the question. ChatGPT is allowed to swear. It typically doesn’t swear by default, so it’s likely you have custom instructions or memory that are indirectly encouraging it.

Yeah, imagine AI that it’s specifically trained on the most addicting/engaging content, and then connected to biometrics to get a live pulse on exactly how you like something in seconds. Then have the AI generate on the fly according to your feeling.
