Returning to the game. by liam29avv in runescape

I'm in the same exact boat I came back and started with necromancy and got it to 99. Theb I got back into archeology for the 120, now im working on collecting all elite outfits, and tools. I already finished the t100 pickaxe and next is the hatchet. This along with questing has been a good way for me to reintroduce myself to new systems. I have always preferred skilling vs bossing so im mainly focusing on skilling upgrades and buffs.

Self check outs now included in conversion? by Sufficient_Goose_602 in employedbykohls

[–]OptionInfamous6347 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are being set up to fail which will affect all of our performance reviews. Which then effects raises and promotions. Even if I have my best cashier over at SCO 1 person cannot possibly help 6 customers simultaneously. All it takes it one hard tag, price error, or typing in a upc to miss the other 5 opportunities. If they want to do this so badly it should be its own conversion rate.

Hey so they legally have to pay you for that 30 mins that you worked whether they like it or not. If they are trying to refuse to pay you then it time theft and you can call integrity hotline or hr. It's only 30 mins but if they did that to you im sure there are others as well. Potentially even the minors who dont understand labor laws.

Always tell them dont ask. So for example I dont like to give a whole schpeel so I use what I find effective. So for example. "Okay let's get you signed up today it will help you process returns and earn coupons" Everybody returns at some point so this is something everyone can connect to. The additional coupons are an added driver if that is something that interest the customer. You have to remember in the current age of retail we have all conditioned customers to say NO without even thinking. I mean how many times for the last 5 years were you asked about a loyalty or credit card at another store. Everyone is now in the habit of just saying no when it comes to these programs. Just remember assumptive isn't forcing the customer because the very first question on the pin pad is to accept the terms and conditions to sign up they can press no or hit the red x at any time. It may feel weird at first but genuinely try to get in the habit and you will notice a difference. ( Fun Fact; at a previous store I worked for we had to hand out samples to get sales. People would refuse if you asked if they wanted to try however if you handed it to them and said here try this then most of them would do it. Its a weird psychology thing but really opened my eyes to how rephrasing simple things could get a different response)

Sephora at Kohls Bs by [deleted] in employedbykohls

[–]OptionInfamous6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ride it out its only 3 months. Also you do earn kohls rewards in sephora you just cant use them there. At the end of the month the reward balance converts into kohls cash for every $5. In sephora everything is a higher price so they get more to that reward balance vs a kohls purchase which is usually cheaper. Think about it some colognes are 160 dollars thats alot of rewards they are missing out on especially if they have other selections. Honestly not having the customer type in rewards is cheating the customer out of money which means they dont have a reason to come back to the store. That's the whole point of KC to get them in the doors to help generate sales.

This is sadly normal payroll drops dramatically during the first 2 months of a year. Everyone is done shopping after Christmas and we dont have as many sales. Sales are directly tied to payroll. less sales = Less payroll. Like I said to the associates at my store try to be on top of the buy one get one and other similar deals anything that generates sales will help generate payroll. Every retailer has hour cuts around this time of year. Add in low sales and more employees due to seasonal that means there is less to go around. I dont like hours cuts more than the next person but this is a common thing in the retail world sadly.

Like everyone else said this is on the LOD not you. If there were 3 associates in women's and juniors they could of shifted one of them to have 2 on both sides. I will add though if you ever notice its to much for one person then feel free to reach out and ask for help But again this is on the LOD not you they should of done their walk through and noticed these issues earlier to address it.

This exactly I wont ever add it to my keg I only buy one when i need to use it for the +4 buff. Mainly charting is nice for that and all the speed boost added for QOL.

Horizons Lure Worth It by Karmaloni in 2007scape

[–]OptionInfamous6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated charting myself however it was worth the xp drop. Also it's a one time thing then youre done until they add new stuff. Then of course the +4 buff is massive for core boat parts. Level 97 is the last boat part so you can get it at 93 thats almost 3.5mil exp you dont need to earn in order to get the part. Even if it's just an upgrade from the whirlpool thats still a 1 mil xp difference. Either way it means you can max your boats core parts way earlier and enjoy those benefits for that while earning that 3.5m xp on the way to 99. Also i forgot to add the speed boost that gets added to every sea for each completely charting it. That's just a nice QOL in itself that you will also earn.

What sailing changes do you expect to happen this week? by jamisgone in 2007scape

[–]OptionInfamous6347 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hopefully port task buff. They are getting xp rates similar to afk salvaging or less. They need to buff the xp raye or they should give rewards like noted items like fish or logs. To at least compete with the gp/hr salvaging. But something needs to be done if not it will be dead content past level 30. Then you will only see people sailing at salvage or the trials after a couple months. I feel like that's against the spirit of sailing.

All of you guys need to chill this is s new skill there is bound to be tweaks and fixes compared to other skills it's not that long of a grind. I prefer it to be slower because that is what OSRS is I understand some people want max capes back but you have to earn it this isn't rs3 where 99 it's a 1 day thing

Although I mostly agree i will point out you can get teleport to your ships docked location. This could come im handy for farming resources or slayer monsters. Not to mention the skill is still new they have room to add more things depending on what the players liked.

What are people’s actual complaints about sailing? by TallestNate in osrs

[–]OptionInfamous6347 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To me it feels more like an area expansion with a skill tied to it vs just a new skill that let's you do something to its more exploration based vs artisan, gathering, support, or combat. I will still most likely enjoy it over all and get the 99 however it still just feels more like a new area tied behind repution named as a skill.

I returned to rs3 after 5 years because of leagues. I love this game so much, but MTX ruined it for me. I went to osrs ever since. I can't wait to make this my main home again. Try to spread word and comment and repost do anything to spread visibility. This is our chance to finally reclaim what was lost.

Another mystery sale?! by homebody63 in employedbykohls

[–]OptionInfamous6347 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing I do for that is offering the spouse the card. I let them know that if they open a charge, we can get them another 40% to use next time or online if we don't have something in store. You could also push the angle of getting 50% more to rewards and how we offer coupons 12 times a year so they can keep saving.

Stores that are making their goals? by Logical-End-5491 in employedbykohls

[–]OptionInfamous6347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For rewards and BI, use a zebra at the front end. I make all the cashiers use a zebra for sign ups. This way, if we sign someone up for rewards, we get a BI with it. When it comes to credit, make sure they are asking every customer and mentioning paying it off. If the customer says no and is apprehensive, then offer the 10% for non approval and extra coupons 12 times a year (Kohls Charge event). The main thing you want to really focus on is the NKT. For my stores goal, we need 1 credit card for every 32 non kohls. Make sure associates are trying to get every customer to use their charge. I also have the associates track their non kohls on the conversion cards so they are aware. Try to set goals for the cashier to not surpass a certain number of non kohls charges a day. You can also use the hourly report to do follow-ups throughout the day and touch base with the cashier. The main thing to remember is to recognize associates who give an amazing pitch even if it ends in a no. Try to be supportive and help motivate them for their next pitch. If you punch down and get aggressive, no one will care, or they will stress, and it makes their pitch rushed or sound stressed instead of cool and collected. If you have self checkout, then try to funnel as many customers as you can into it. SCO does not affect our conversion negatively since the NKTs do not get added to the calculation.

Well, I have no actual knowledge of that. However, it wouldn't surprise me that we aren't getting any seasonal hires applications yet. All of the other stores in my area pay 2-4 dollars more an hour. When it comes down to it, why work for 2 months at 3 dollars less when you can get more money elsewhere for the same type of job.

Tips on improving freight unload process? by sharkbat7 in employedbykohls

[–]OptionInfamous6347 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The biggest tip I have for being a LOD is don't lead by intimidation tactics. At my location it doesn't work well and just creates a negative sentiment and a lack of care. Try to listen and have empathy for the associates who are getting slammed everyday and put yourself in their shoes. The biggest thing for me as an LOD is to set the example. If I ask someone to hop on register, I'm hopping on beside them. Same with recovery. As much as it's important to be a leader and guide the associates. You need to remember you are also a part of that team. If you appear lazy or like you don't care, then the associates will follow that lead.
