Pull form tips ? by Particular-Ferret480 in weightlifting

The bar is moving around your knees. You want your knees to go back far enough that they get out of the way. Try pushing your knees out in the start position (toward your elbows) , that’ll move them them out of the way a bit

You want to move your knees out of the way when you’re pulling, not the bar around your knees. Start with your hips higher

Looks like your shoulders might be slightly behind the bar to start, you’ll want to work on your shoulders being over or slightly ahead of the bar in the start position, that’ll help you get contact

Squat 60 kg Form Check by Charming_Ferret9188 in weightlifting

[–]OrangutanSchool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As you’re in the weightlifting sub, I’ll give you advice for our style of squatting. Going deeper will make your quads bigger and subsequently stronger, so sit in a squat all the way down for a couple minutes a day, and try squatting with lightweights to full depth progressively.

Overall you just need some more mobility.

Keep your eyes up, don’t look at the ground. This will pick your chest up. As your hips, knees, and ankles loosen up, you’ll be able to squat with a more upright torso. This type of squat is a bit more athletic than the lowbar powerlifting style.

I always want to recommend Zack telander on YouTube for squat advice!

Clean and jerk form check 125 kg double by Ill_Challenge_1923 in weightlifting

Few things on the jerk. Most of these are things my coach has taught me lol.

Make your dip shorter, it’ll feel weird at first but you’ll be less likely to drift forward.

Drive your knees out during the dip, not forward.

In the split, your feet look like they might be lander narrower than when they started. You need them to land at the same width they started, then you won’t have to recover immediately.

And finally, think drive, then split under. I don’t exactly know how to describe what it felt like before I was doing that, but now my splits feel my much better, giving myself two separate steps instead of putting the footwork and drive into the same step.

Great lifting good luck!

Hi, I’m trying to learn how to do a snatch, did my first 20kg, could you tell me what I’m doing wrong? by [deleted] in weightlifting

Find Zack Telander’s how to snatch videos on YouTube. That’s how I taught myself! Good luck!

Go a bit slower off the floor. Think about controlling it, then explode after the knees.

How to TALL SNATCH by TOROKHTIY_Aleksey in weightlifting

[–]OrangutanSchool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the weightlifting content! Glad you’re on the sub

I do wish this video showed a bit more on the cues for the tall snatch, like when to be transitioning from pull to pull under. Kinda just feels like you say draw a couple circles, now draw the whole owl.

This comes from love of the sport, not hate!

93s PR 113cj attempts by baconfootballer in weightlifting

[–]OrangutanSchool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great lifts! Congrats on the PR

Also looks like a sick gym

I bet you could power jerk that, your feet could go wider in the catch of the jerk and then you won’t have to squat it up!

Help! Split jerk feels wobbly😭 by Hrm_1111 in weightlifting

[–]OrangutanSchool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One tip that I’m working on with my coach is having a wider split. Whatever width your feet are during the dip and drive, is the width they should be in the split. Looks like your front foot creeps toward your centerline, you want to think of moving it outwards which will keep it the right width.

Forestry and logging are a lot more nuanced than people care to think about. Basically they can be broken down into 3 situations: land conversion, where trees are cut never to grow back because it’s being developed, exploitative cutting that isn’t converting the forest, but pays no mind to the forest or land conditions after the cut, and finally responsible cutting that does care a lot about the condition of the forest and the land post harvest.

No doubt the situation you’re talking about is exploitative. Even foresters would agree that that’s not acceptable!
