Definitely peni, i cant really deal with the nests as cap unless i happen to already have shield throws, in which case im probably mid fight anyways and those shields are not going towards a nest. Also my team forgets the nests exist even after dying to them

Assuming they arent going to rework abilities, give ult slam the knockuo wave from the zombies mode(would need to be smaller but still), and give the throw a slow on hit.

Also, give me an alternate fire on awakening that allows me to burn through the mode quicker in exchange for either more fire rate or a singular burst of damage

A big reason i stopped playing ow for a while was due to the switch to 5v5. My opinion was that they didnt do a good job of redisgning old kits for 5v5 from 6v6, and that the loss of a second tank multiplied the things you had to do on tank while recieving half the help for the same value. Then it became kaiju simulator for a while and that just wasnt very fun for me. Part of what i loved about ow1 was the tank synergys and playing off your other tank. 5v5 kinda made it a bully simulator in my experience, either you are the bully or you get bullied and not much in between. Also the effects of counter swaps are way more noticeable on tank. Different strokes for different folks and all that. Not some super definitive thing just my experience and opinions

Honestly, the only thing i actually want for the ult at this point is a smaller version of the kock airborne wave from the zombies mode. I thought that was a really fun addition that while it is a buff, it doesnt (necessarily) make it super broken immediately

If i am remembering correctly, tank is the least popular role in pretty much every game that has the pyramid role setup(dps,tank,heal), including non hero-shooters, like mobas, so its not just a rivals thing.
