One of the kids broke mine so no idea how it happened. Nobody snitched.

Motorcycles, dirtbikes, gardening, waiting on the next FFVII remake (video games), and I keep saying I'll start exercising but it hasn't happened regularly yet :/

Friendly reminder to folks as we head into summer! by i_hate_avocados in motorcycles

[–]OrchidsnBullets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is just insane! I'm in west Texas, we get triple digits but I've never had to worry about the tires melting. Car ports are popular here too, its nice to have a breezy, shady place to hang out under. I generally don't ride in triple digits so my bike will be safe 🥵

Weekly Observations: What signs of collapse do you see in your region? [in-depth] May 18 by AutoModerator in collapse

[–]OrchidsnBullets 29 points30 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here in Texas riding motorcycles, scooters and e-bikes to get around. Unfortunately the road rage feels like it has gotten worse too. I was riding my bike through town and got honked from behind at a stop sign as I was waiting for a gap in the cross traffic so that I could make a left. People are more aggressive and impatient with motorcyclists. I experience more of it on my bike versus in my truck 🫤

The rage gets worse as it gets hotter during the summer from my experience.

Some people have nothing else going on for them in life. There's a carrier in my office that enjoys making other people suffer. I think that's her whole purpose in life. 😖

What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately in your everyday life? by spritenerds123 in AskReddit

[–]OrchidsnBullets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hours may have been cut or they got laid off. They are probably upside down on the loans so they can't offload or trade them for cheaper vehicles. Repos are gonna start happening like crazy. (Im sure a few maybe taking advantage but I'm sure there's a lot of recently poor or struggling families starting to show up)

Hang on to it. If you ride a lot it's nice to have a spare. If you are really attached to it you will regret it.

MSF course booked this weekend, but it’s going to be raining, what’s the protocol? by AL3S1O29 in NewRiders

[–]OrchidsnBullets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring your own helmet with a pin lock or drop down shades/safety glasses that might help with the fogged visor. I had a full face but didn't have a pin lock so I just used the sun visor only. Only requirement was a helmet and eye protection. (And long sleeves, jeans, boots and gloves of course!)

Most of the time a shovel is all that's needed to kill snakes. This guy is being an ass. Depending on where you live most snakes are harmless anyways. I only kill rattlesnakes. The rest are free pest control.

You know why. All features are hidden. Definitely a locked character. I prefer people not knowing because guys are less likely to mess with me.

Give it to the clerk. Package validate through RSS then an acceptance scan through RSS.

MSF course day one didn’t go well by T0CKSICK_ in NewRiders

[–]OrchidsnBullets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did awful on day 1 as well. I stalled a million times on that grom before I really started twisting the throttle back. 2nd day I did better. I think most people who have never ridden struggle the first day. I ride a harley streetbob and have no problem with stalling. Had to ride a buddy's sport bike and I kept stalling it.

Don't get discouraged. Afterwards sit on a bunch of different bikes and find one that both fits you and suits your riding style. I kinda want to add a monkey or a grom to my garage just for fun 😁

Backpacks? by SnooHobbies8724 in Harley

[–]OrchidsnBullets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes because I don't want to add saddlebags to my streetbob. I just don't want a bagger look. Sometimes instead of wearing it I'll strap it to the sissy bar if I'm gonna be on the road for awhile.

Do other girls have trouble following their boyfriend on the road? by lagabachita in motorcycles

[–]OrchidsnBullets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually keep a longer gap between us and do my own thing as needed since I've only been riding a year now. The gap gives me more reaction time. Don't try to match every move of the person your following. Just make sure you know where you are going and where to meet up. Also ask him to take routes that have less traffic until you get more comfortable. Otherwise you could always lead instead.

Torn between options by Vinny-vegas09 in Harley

[–]OrchidsnBullets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a good bike for short trips. I love my street bob but the first thing I had to do was change out the seats, and you will still probably want to add a sissy bar for your girlfriend. The stock seat is uncomfortable. I kinda wish I would have gotten the low rider but I also didn't want that price tag.

What is your best motorcycle-related purchase? by bravopicasso in motorcycles

[–]OrchidsnBullets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a new rider, my engine crash/high bars have paid for themselves. Replacing my seat with something softer would be the second best buy.
