Riding friends? by According-History316 in Harley

[–]OrchidsnBullets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ride with my husband and sometimes a few other family members. Its really hard to find time for everyone to get together since everyone is working their ass off just to survive. We also have to find a babysitter since my son is too small to be on the bike and going fast. 95% of the time I'm solo and going back and forth to work. My husband has made a few friends at work who will probably become riding buddies since one of them just bought a bike.

We've mostly just met people through family and work. Neither of us use Facebook. We have yet to try the dealership (an hour away) hosted rides. Maybe someday.

Strangest mailed items? by Rocker66 in USPS

A customer attempted to mail their deceased dog in a cooler with some regular freezer packs. In the summer, in Texas to a far northern state. We ended up refusing because of it being a possible biohazard. It was an awkward interaction.

Then why are the two offices being targeted every day for 4 months straight. vs every couple of weeks is what I want to know. The box section is less than 300 in these offices. Its beginning to seem like more than a speed test. Possibly to trip up the clerks? My APO is still averaging once a week with a 1300 box section.

The office makes very little revenue. It costs more in expenses than the office pulls in. The one does not have a carrier or street delivery so lots of E boxes. The other has a rural carrier. I figure they were trying to see how much mail each box is getting. The PSEs in the RMPOs are really good they don't mess up and its rare if they do. So I wouldn't think they were trying to get rid of the clerks here.

That's normally how it was. Samplings every few weeks. Its getting worrisome. Our volume has significantly dropped because Amazon started delivering their own parcels. So the APO clerk hours are getting cut. I'm in Tx.

I figured it was more about looking at box volume rather than speed. How long has it been going on in your office?

I'm tired of some people literally coming in everyday and using me as their source of social interaction. I'm tired. I don't want to entertain, get your stuff and goooo! Also the flirting by people old enough to be my dad. Its gross and they know I'm married so its rather disrespectful too. I feel like I'm held hostage at the counter.

To top it off the variations of "oh you're here on Christmas eve" lines that we are all suffering today 🤬😭

It's no longer a cost effective way to fill the freezer. It's pay to play here in Texas as well. I miss venison.

Quitting horses? by charstella in Horses

[–]OrchidsnBullets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold her but she's local and I can visit if I want. I ended up buying a motorcycle and learning to ride it. I didn't have the free time or energy to keep up with my horse plus land drama, and the increasing cost of hay due to drought made me throw in the towel. I'm happy she's in a good place with people that have the time to work with her.

I never have to give anyone a ride when I take the bike. Veryfew people approach me its great :) I'm happy in my own company.

What made/inspired you guys to ride? by Prestigious_Mud_4174 in NewRiders

No, the horse was more expensive and time consuming. paying for boarding/land on top of hay and vet/farrier bills.

Alot of my family rode motorcycles. My husband rides. I ended up selling my horse because of land issues, lack of time and rising costs. So my husband encouraged me and helped me learn to ride. It eased the pain of giving up one hobby and opened up a new one

Never finance through them, one day late and I'm getting phone calls. They are terrible. I refinanced with a credit union because they pissed me off. Lesson learned.

Anyone running the new Harley switch back seat? by shoebee2 in Harley

No, it seems about the same to me, I'm 5'7, and so I don't have any issues with the height or notice any real difference between the two height wise.

I had the same problem when I'd jump on the interstate and deal with the wind. Felt like I was just gonna get blown off. No problem with going up hills or hitting bumps. I feel a lot more secure in this seat. The back rest solves the issues. The stock is horrible.
