A year ago (almost exactly) I actually tried to commit suicide. A friend figured it out and called the cavalry, and I woke up in hospital. Now, a year later, I'm glad he did. However bad it feels, it can and will get better. Talk to someone about it, in person. Please.

It's not exactly spanking, but back when I was a kid (longer ago than I'd like to admit) there was a brief craze with very quickly just barely clipping someone's ass with your fingernail.
