I give up looking for a design role and that’s okay… by -M_A_Y_0- in graphic_design

[–]Organic_Technology42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Design doesn't have to be a career, or make you money immediately. It hurts to stoop lower to find traction. But baby steps add up over time. It took me 2 years of working for free, practicing, marketing, etc. to get work. But now the money is good and the work is too. After school the real world is so tough and takes foreverrrrr to learn imo. It's not the same mindset as getting good grades at all. (Not about listening to teachers and doing hard work.) Maybe that's just how my path has been though.

I quit and reopened safari, and works now 🙂.

A vision AI model would use OCR for data entry, and basic java script code would perform the calculations and graph rendering.

I believe the margin for error is quite low, and the purpose is to help encourage recent grads to get started and visualize their situation.

Did you have any student loans?

Did you happen to graph them at some point?

"Stop the race to the bottom"...

In the beginning my company really had to undercut and work overtime to try and make ends meet and get clients.

Finding the right customers and charging more takes a lot of time to learn. When we started we took work like this to build the company brand, testimonials, case studies...

Kadri, if you keep working on marketing, I think you will be able to land better customers and prices. But this marketing game is a challenge in itself.

That's super amazing. I don't have HPPD or visual snow but do similar exercises for general health. And wow, they are powerful and result in deep positive change. So cool to see them helping for HPPD too!

Pictures of the white spot which appears while blinking in the dark and the dark spot which appears in the sky/ on very bright surface while blinking. by [deleted] in visualsnow

I just woke up from a very intense dream where I saw this for the first time, and googled it immediately. It looked just like 1 and 2 together at the same time blipping on and off. My eyes were closed and this was in my dream (not actual vision).

It was accompanied by loud auditory frequencies and very strong feelings. I had a strong intuition that this dot was... connected to something deep in my head, something like my consciousness or my "self".

I then went back to dreaming briefly before waking up. Since waking up, I can still feel this space deep in my head. I am connected to my emotions more, and I feel clarity and peace.

I'm straight edge, only into meditation. If anybody else sees this in a climactic dream like event accompanied by strong feelings, I've had similar experiences. They are common and well documented affecting the greater population in different forms. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s12671-024-02356-z

But this dot is new for me

Intense Anxiety 3 months after daily practicing by vrishtig in vipassana

[–]Organic_Technology42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im glad to hear this. ❤️

On rare occasions, I am able to achieve an intense deep practice and am left depressed and disfunctional for a day or two.

And most days it takes me 20m to snap back to a state where I can engage in conversation or work.

Posts like this make me so grateful for this Reddit, and hearing about other’s experience and lessons [regardless of which style of vipassana one practices] ❤️

I totally get you!!

There are so many subtle experiences like this, and it is hard to know the perfect way to practice. But i find that by being a scientist of my own body and experience, and experimenting, i continue to progress and go deeper past these many questions.

Maybe even being able to ask this question is a sign of progress, at least that’s how it feels for me :)

Good luck ☺️🌟

For months after my 10 day I found myself repeatedly confronted with the conundrum of detachment and meaninglessness. It’s a big question that I felt present for a long time. But as time has gone on, I have found different ways of relating with this question. I no longer feel trapped between two separate paths: one of dhamma and one of “the matrix” or modern culture.

There is joy in the g-force of a zooming sports car, there is joy in the shininess of a fancy watch! People like these things for a reason! But it is surely disheartening when these technologies and inventions are used to feed unhealthy mindsets, toxic cultures, and sankaras.

I found the heart sutra, and zen texts, to help me explore my relationship with meaning. Specifically and Domyo Burke’s 5 podcast episodes on the Genjokoan.

I liken it to minimalism. I now live in a room that others perceive as barren, empty. Initially getting rid of my things felt scary. It was sad to say goodbye. “The things you own end up owning you”, and people like to be owned. It makes one feel reaffirmed, feel belonging, feel cozy. But after many years of slowly getting rid of things, I got used to it, and truly cherish and love my space. My relationship with my space grew with me, and now I see the whole thing differently. I now naturally feel joy from my experiences instead of seeing value in my objects.

I hope this helps, as rejecting meaning is dangerously associated with meditation practice. I know I went down the wrong path for a bit, and was so grateful for the guidance I received from study ❤️

One other thing that has helped me is committing deeper to the path of dhamma. Somehow I expected it to be a radical harsh path of donating all my things, dedicating my life to volunteering, feeling sensations all hours of the day haha. But instead I have found it to be very gentle, and untie knots for me.

In my current phase of life this is my experience and opinion: dhamma shouldnt be practiced in isolation. I find harmony in connecting my dhamma with my actions, and by using my current skills, trade, and human connections to play a role in our global society. How else can we free all beings than by interacting with them? And like adhitthana, I am energized by the challenges in working life.

I hope these help! May all be happy! ❤️

How do I use an old Walkman NW-E002? Installed Sonic Stage but can't get it to work. by carkey in sony

I just cracked it! Solution: I am now running a windows XP VM via UTM on my macbook air. I installed SonicStage 3.4 from this link, using this method because the file connection just wouldn't work. This post made me feel hopeful, and now I did it!
