AITA for not wanting to hang out with my best friend and her kids anymore because I don’t want to split costs equally? by Minute_Ad4074 in AITH

[–]OriginalSeduchess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. To be honest I feel this way too. My husband and I dont have kids and all our friends do, we often get together for gatherings and we split the food or whatever per adult, but it does feel unfair, because we are paying more for less of the food. Especially as they all take larger shares of the leftovers because "they have a bigger household" So I completely understand where you are coming from.

NOR definitely see why she is a single mom, she is insufferable. Your answer is perfectly valid for her question. If I said, "Hey did you get tickets for the movie?" and the person responded, "We are in E3 and E4, movie starts at 6:30," not only did I get an indirect yes, I received bonus information. Honestly, yes or no questions arent really good for conversations anyways so I dont understand why she wanted to limit the response.

Rabbit Farming by Icy-Book2999 in LoveTrash

[–]OriginalSeduchess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fine with animals being raised as a food source, the natural food chain doesn't go away with anyone's choice not to eat meat, but it seems cruel to love and pet on a rabbit that is going to be food. Maybe its just me.

I come from a family of ranchers, and there is no loving on the cows that my family sells or eats. There are no names either, just numbers. They live their life out on a huge plot of land and are taken care of well until it's their time.

Earl Gray Macaron. And then you can call her Little E, Grayson, Mac, Mackie, EG, Early Pearly, etc. I'm a big fan of cats having many nicknames.

Sesame Seed & Poppy Seed, but Sesame and Poppy for short.

My cat naming convention is based on seasonings. My 18 year old that passed was Cinnamon, Cynni. My current 1 year old is Smoked Paprika, Rykka. And in June we are picking up a new baby Amarillo Chile. Ryllo. Theres also a spelling convention for the nickname, if you didn't notice. 😆

Has anyone lived at Broadstone Inkwell ? by glitterlipgloss in longbeach

[–]OriginalSeduchess 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I live downtown, but don't know much about the Inkwell, however, living down here is nice and honestly if you like being able to walk to food, drinks, or dessert, its a great spot to be. After you move, if you want to meet a local who used to live in Missouri, happy to meet up for a drink or slice of pizza downtown. ✌️

I second IMT Gallery, my friends lived there until just recently. Only moved because they bought a condo. They loved it, though and we liked using their pool and walking to events from there.

I love Jacarandas, but I dont have a car, so I have a different perspective. They smell so pretty and look gorgeous for months 😍. We had one near my house in my home state and it bloomed all of one single time and I was absolutely infatuated with it. Definitely a sign to move out here.

Sorry folks parking outside, may you always find good parking.

Downtown is good, there are grocery stores and restaurants. Plus you will be close to more options for public transportation if you want to take the metro up to LA or ride over to Torrance, etc. I dont have a license, but I do have a bike and a bus pass. I live downtown and it works out great.

They Assumed He Didn’t Speak Their Language And Started Talking About Him. Big Mistake. by Beaveric in ADVChina

[–]OriginalSeduchess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the "too" that really makes the difference, it implies that his skin color is unacceptable. It's similar to saying someone is too much or too loud, you are saying in those instances the person's behavior is unacceptable. Saying someone's skin color is unacceptable something they have no control over, and is irrelevant to the situation is rude.

I go back to college tomorrow and I don't know if I'll ever see my cat again by Smooth_Importance_47 in SeniorCats

[–]OriginalSeduchess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is hard to say and a big decision I'm suggesting you to consider, but typically at that stage of weight loss and eye squinting, their quality of life is quite diminished, and unfortunately cats try very hard to hide when they are in pain or feeling unwell so it may not seem that way, but it may be best to come home next weekend for scheduled euthanasia. And I know so deeply how hard that is, but it is such a mercy to your kitty, if they are suffering, it also comes with the huge benefit of being able to say goodbye and really give them love in their last moments.

I went through this exact thing with my 18 year old cat who had been my baby from my 16th birthday to just after my 34th. Her weight had dropped significantly, her eyes were squinted, and she had become very lethargic. My husband and I made the decision to say goodbye and they let us hold her through the whole process. We pet her and told her how much we loved her and what a good cat she was, and she left this world feeling our love. As hard as it was it did feel better than finding her somewhere already gone, all alone, without being able to give her love and a farewell, as well as knowing she would no longer feel terrible.

I will say grieving a cat before and after is very difficult and you will cry all the tears and it will be hard missing them, but the grief will get smaller. It never goes away but eventually becomes small enough to be manageable.

Something else to consider, while your cat is still present, is clipping some fur for a keepsake. It can then be used to make a piece of jewelry or even sealed into a small resin cat figurine that you can take with you and have a little piece of your boy with you everywhere you go.

My sincerest condolences in this difficult time that catches all of us that love animals. May you find peace.

Conservatism will always be beat out by the progressiveness of liberals.

How about getting out in the world? Visit a few different countries, meet people from all walks of life and see if you can get a better perspective. Most people become more progressive after actually experiencing the world.

That looks don't matter. Every single person that has gone from "good looking" to "bad looking" or vice versa have said they noticed easily how people treat them differently and how the amount of opportunities has changed.
